I'm sure that if it was made public knowledge what the agreement entails then that would act as a deterrent against any approaches for our players. To be fair I don't think the Liverpool fans would stand for it if they thought the owners and Rodgers were dirtying the name of their club.
We had no choice on Allen because Rodgers effectively made him for sale by 'pulling the the trigger'.
But what many people don't seem to realise is that the agreement was breached with the earlier bid of £12.5M because at that point no clubs had come in for him and the player wasn't for sale, so the criteria hadn't been met. We knew it, Rodgers knew it and Liverpool knew it.
Of course, no complaint was ever made to the FA because (fortunately) we came out of it very well.

- He does mention Vorm when asked about keepers - mostly because Vorm is a good example I think. He clearly had a good relationship with him.
- I doubt we'll go for Vorm. Too expensive for his age.
- The club told the Liverpool echo recently that the money was there for Walcott and Sturridge - but due to Walcott's contract situation and Sturridge's want for a permanent deal nothing happened. The Americans didn't want to fork out for Dempsey due to his age - although they really should have just bought him.
- We'll probably go for a younger/better option - again I'd say Rui Patricio is my choice, if indeed Reina goes - which is a big 'if'.
- And yes, musty, Carroll has a clause for January. Frankly though, he wasn't really scoring goals before he left - everyone is in a fuss about him leaving purely because Dempsey didn't arrive.

KD dirtied the name of Liverpool all last season, with his antics and no one up there seemed to care they still backed him (the fans that is). I just think the guy has no scrupples.
kj you are spot on with what you say they have breached it, but what Swansea need to do is make the details of the agreement open to the public so everyone can see what a maraless c**t he is.

I think the Swans have kind of moved on from it to be honest TLF as had many of the fans, bearing in mind how well we've done since. But Rodgers is still talking about our players and that's raised the issue again.

I stand by my earlier position .... Vorm is smart and his not going from a team in 2nd position to a team that can't even manage its transfer strategies properly, is struggling for cash for player investment, and is at the bottom of the league.
It's all speculation. In any case, the agreement can be set aside if both side agree. So as long as Vorm doesn't have a get-out clause, then Huw doesn't have to sell. It's as simple as that. In Allen's case he wanted to leave, so you can't blame Rodgers for that. Rodgers is an easy scpaegoat for many on here.
He does yes - but he's never had the money or pull that we have before. Admittedly Vorm must be in his thoughts, if even as a model type of keeper.
Reina should be the perfect fit - he plays this style already for Spain and has had fantastic distribution for years. Perhaps he needs a decent back up keeper to keep him on his toes (Brad Jones this is not).
This summer he took two players he'd worked with before, like most new managers do. He also got in three he hadn't worked with, and clearly wanted another, Clint Dempsey. So perhaps that is not as good an argument as it could have been.
At the end of the day it's all speculation about a hypothetical situation. Let's all hope Reina pulls the finger out.

Brendan rogers came in with a 12.5 mil offer for allen. That was then allen asked for a move. Just think to the statement put out by the swans.
What does that have to do with morality? It hardly makes him a terrible person. It's a harsh reality of football - big players leave for better opportunities. We lost Alonso, Arbeloa, Masherano and Torres in the space of two years - I know it hurts! But I don't think it's particularly unusual or immoral.
When Rafa went to Inter I fully expected him to sign Kuyt, for example. Managers nearly always bring in players they've worked with before.
Allen only said he wanted to leave when Rogers showed an interest in him. Once his release clause was triggered, Jenkins was powerless so couldn't have said no
Did Rafa sign an agreement not to come in for Liverpool players ? I think Liverpool did with us unless someone else came in for a player. No other club came in for Allen but Brendan used inside information to trigger a release clause to sign him. Yes it happens in football and it's part of the parcel of the game.
But he didn't just do that did he? He scuppered the Siggy deal with his shenanigans in the press, he tried the same thing with Dempsey, and now by the looks of things he's gonna try the same with Vorm and maybe other players from us. The guy is a snake in the grass and has no integrity, our club signed an agreement with yours, all we want to do is be left alone to crack on with the season.
Your manager appears to want to destroy our team, he said when he left that he'll always be a jack, like **** will he be, the guy is disingenuous stab in the back, double dealing, blarney speaking bastard. Yes he'll get a good reception at our stadium when he returns, hope he gets fired after we put 5 past you!
I think in siggy's case, he came to Swansea only because of Rodgers, so once Rodgers left there wasn't much hope of him signing. I don't think you can blame Rodgers for that one. In any case, Siggy didn't end up at Liverpool. He obviously thought Spurs was a better choice than Swansea.
Anyway, Rodgers has left, so no much point debating it all. It's in the past. Also, he's now Liverpool manager, so has a duty to put them first, just as our manager has a duty to put us first. Are we all complaining because we got Michu on the cheap. If it was the other way around, then most would be claiming that we got ripped off. It's football and this is the way it is, so better get used to it.
And for those still angry at Rodgers, think of the Buddha saying...

Let the anger go and celebrate our success instead. Lots of bad things happen, but you'll never have a happy life by constantly focusing on the bad stuff.
