He'd be the only type of player to keep some on here happy, that's for sure! Can you see it happening?

I've a feeling there's gonna be a signing that is off the radar at the moment, someone none of us or the press have even sussed to date...

Like some Brazilian no-one's ever heard of? That took everyone about three hours to work out who it was last night?! This bloke is a massive gamble: good job its a loan.

Just amazed by some of the posts on here. We have a chance of seeing a player who might be the next Ronaldo or Romario even if the chance is only 10%. But we get quibbles about the deal, whether he will settle in, not having the elusive 'proven' goalscorer etc. My sincere hope is that he comes, stuns us, we buy him for £5m, get another season or two out of him before Barca/ Real Madrid buy him for £100m. It's fantasies like this that keep me a fan. and frankly if it's a choice between him and a ridiculous contract for Defoe I'd take Henrique........prefer both though, but then of course the 'too short' brigade would have another spasm.

Before I get beaten down I know the likelihood is almost nothing. But I am delighted that, until we can produce our own wonder kids, we are pinching other people's and taking a few risks. One thing I'm sure of with a player like Henrique is that we won't be punting the ball 100 yards in the hope of a knockdown...

FFS!! I suppose, unless we get Rooney, Van Persie, Messi or someone...you simply won't think any new players are good enough!!?

Not complaining about the signing, it is good business, just concerned with him being seen as the main striker with limited experience. Like you, I'll be made up if he starts whacking them in for fun, but his record at senior level rather than under-20 isn't good...

No idea if he's going to be "the main striker" or not. But he looks like he has a shed load of ability and could be the replacement for Adel if Taarabt doesn't impress Hughes?

Chill out col. I hope he does work out and no, I don't expect us to sign first team players from top six clubs. But its clear NW was replaced because MH was the man with the transfers lined up (through his own agent in this case). I just think that given the failure rate of Brazilians in our leagues, I hope theres a plan B. Thats all.

    Ridiculous!!
NW was replaced because we were on a terrible run and his tactics and handling of players were seriously in question.
Hughes can't magic top players out of thin air!!
Every time a player is announced or linked with us, some on here seem to complain.
We are very, very unlikely to get any really top class players in, other than, hopefully Alex, which would be a great signing imo, as long as he can stay fit!

I agree with you about Alex, but not about NW. I think the timing had everything to do with the transfer window, and I will judge MH on the transfers he brings in

How can you judge someone on a January transfer window!!? It's a very difficult time to pick up decent players!!
Surely judge him on how he gets us playing?

Fair enough Col. if he can turn the team around without getting more players, he's the man! But I think we all suspect there's no O'Neill bounce in our team at present. we need help. if I'm wrong, great!

Blimey!! I'm not saying that am I!!?
I realise that we need NEW players. Our discussion was about the calibre of possible signings!!
If we don't get any new players in, we'll go down, no doubt!!

Ask a Boro supporter about Juninho. Just as unproven as Henrique when he arrived, in a very different climate re Prem then and now. If Henrique can make a fraction of the impact Juninho did he will become a Rangers legend.

Not saying he will, but this is a cheap gamble with a fixed price if he's a success, win-win situation. And can't remember reading anywhere that he will be our "main striker? Trust MH to know what's needed up front in the Premier League.
