Gerrard wasn't a great leader, but he was an inpsiration, as his leadership was by example.

Henderson is in no way, shape or form going to be able to fill his boots, as he's not got the game to.

The role of Captain is completely overblown though, as very often the captain isn't the most vocal on the pitch, he's not the one who's cajolling and encouraging the most, in the very best teams there's usually 3 or 4 leaders on the pitch, so the armband is little more than a prefects badge.
That's why I think the likes of Hendo keeping in mind his age at the start was naive to step back when Gerrard was on. He should have been doing what he did when he wasn't..

And that's what I mean by not trying to do what Stevie did...that's not what being captain will be about for him. H'es got to do it his own way.

That little Gerrard interview was interesting today when asked about Sterling it was pretty obvious the disdain he showed - clearly thinks he's a jumped up clueless little ****er, then he compared him to Henderson

Henderson in the obvious and probably only choice for this, I don't get the people pissing their pants in excitement though, he'll do well in the role, take it seriously, represent the club well with a good attitude, but as for his football I still think there's much work still to be done

Own up..who voted for him? I did! Came up on my Twitter timeline and since he asked nicely....job done!

Jokes aside...FSG must be ridiculously happy that our club is on the front of that game....as will Standard Chartered I assume...

this just about sums it up for me, think he will be ok but is shows something when he is the only realistic choice.

I think that's cos Rodgers got rid of some obvious choices Reina, Agger, ......... it's not that long ago he tried to get rid of Henderson. He essentially got rid of Gerrard too.
