  2. Hyypia was third. Fowler was injured a lot too. Sami did become the captain briefly for a couple of seasons before Rafa gave it Gerrard

I think he's improving in this department and would be very surprised if he didn't get at least 5 goals next season. I can actually see him getting around 10 as he'll be making runs into the box more this season - bit like Gerrard of old in that sense.

I say that as I felt last season sometimes he felt worried that Suarez would shout at him if he made a run and shot. That worry made him fire the ball 10 foot over the cross bar. That's the only bonus of us selling Suarez, I feel players will be able to play their naural game without having their head blown off from making an error by Suarez every 5 minutes.

Suarez was a very controlling player, I bet his Mrs lives in fear!!!

Cheers for that. You're welcome here for some good discussion. Stay away from the spineless mods though (all of them).

Henderson obviously won't be as highly regarded as Gerrard but I strongly doubt any players really will in the long term. He's probably the symbol of Liverpool above even our legends of the past. That doesn't mean he won't be supported. I love his playing style and despite a slow start to the love-in, many fans have been supporting him throughout his Liverpool career. He reminds me of Ramsey though Ramsey is a bit more technical in his dribbling and passing. Hopefully in 10 years he will be here as captain.

Plus Ramsey doesn't have an engine anywhere near as good as Hendo. For me Ramsey is lazy, a let down on his natural ability.

I'm not too sure he's lazy, one of the few Arsenal players that kept on going till the end of the FA Cup..
He's a decent engine on him, not Hendo'esque, but right now, he (Ramsey) is a technically better player, however, seen the improvement Hendo's made in his touch, vision and passing, since he's been working with Rodgers, I can see him getting up to Ramsey in technical ability, prob. won't be as good a finisher as Ramsey, but he's one of the rare midfielders that can bag you 15 odd goals a season, Unless Hendo steps up to take Pens when Gerrard retires, I doubt he'll break 10 goals a season (would love to be proved wrong though).

I'm biased, I'd love Hendo to be handed the VC role now and to take up the Captains arm band with Gerrard doesn't play/calls it quits.

Of the opinion that hendersond a total shovel foot who scoops the ball over the bar

It's technique that can be worked on so for this season I hope he's going to at least get efforts on target

Btw in a 433 someone's got to get in the box so by default its Henderson til we see the team actually play

  11. Great news, he fully deserves it and hope he is vice-captain for many years to come

(Flanno will take the armband from Stevie when he retires)

Good news. He's made himself a key player the last 2 years and reminds me of Lucas how he turned his game around after a lot of criticism. Hopefully he can push on and go on someway to helping us replace Gerrard's influence.
