The central defence is not the most urgent aspect of any of Celtic's inefficiency. Rogne is a decent no-nonsense defender and is improving all the time as he is given game time and his fitness seem to be holding out after a bad run of injuries. His confidence is building by playing with the likes of Mulgrew and Wanyama. I don't think Kelvin Wilson is the answer but time will tell. I do agree that we could do with one other ball winning centre back but much more important is the need to sign a ball winning striker. A striker who can hold the ball up and let our decent midfielders back up the other strikers. Hooper & Stokes are not the answer FULL STOP. As much as I like them both, they are simply not near the standard required for Celtic to progress further. We need a top quality striker who can header a ball! We have not had anyone since Henrik who can header a ball from a set piece - apart from the odd one or two here and there. Remember the days when we got a corner kick and we immediately thought, yes a goal? That has not happened with Celtic since the MON days and needs addressed urgently. If the bhoys up front are doing the stuff, the defence will look after itself. It's all about confidence. Sign Van Persie now (I wish) lol. Striking problem needs to sorted first.

I dont disagree about a need for a different type of forward , and Ive never been a fan of stokes, but I think we dont make the most of wanyama by using him at the very back...and in europe especially Ive had too many disappointments because we couldnt close out a match or hold onto a draw/narrow lead. Still crying out for a settled back four that basically picks itself game in game out.

Mick where did you get the idea of not been a supporter if you don't attend the match. You certainly didn't get it from me, but been involved in lies and half truths have never bothered you before and is hardly going to start now.
The reason I asked where you found out that the entire Finnish team earned less than Scot Brown was, I was at that time enjoying a recent rare bit of real Celtic success only for the joy to be knocked out of me by you. Thanks Mick.

Celtic need a Striker to increase competition - Hooper looked lazy and maybe a new striker will give hiem a wee kick up the arse.

A CB is also a must...

Hopefully with European football til the Xmas, Lennon gets some cash.

Either that, or they cash in on their weakest midfielder in Ki.

For me, the 2 central midfield places are between Brown, Victor, Ledley and Kayal. All much better than Ki (in my opinion)

Pud, I don't think many posters would disagree with your ratings of the central midfielders. However we will often, especially away from
home have to play at least 3 of these players at the one time. Based on last season at least 2 of these could be missing through injury
at any one time. Brown and Kayal spent long periods last season. We may be glad of all of these centre midfielders if we suffered any injuries.

I would be happy enough with Wednesday's centre defenders as our first choice but I don't trust Rogne not to get injured, so I agree we need
    a centre back.
