hi wondering if any1 can help me work out return for golf bet,i backed keegan bradley at 66/1 €10 each way 1/4 odds paying 6 places, as he tied for 4th along with 4 others was wondering how do the bookies settle this bet as don't do many golf bets, is it like a dead heat in horse racing or do i get 1/4,

I have no idea what they do but if they were paying on 6 places then, if your bet had tied with with 2 others, it would have been simple (ie 1/4 odds). And had your bet finished 6th tying with 2 others you would have received 1/4 odds to 1/3 of your stake. I would imagine that, with 4th, 5th and 6th places each qualifying for 1/4 odds (ie 3 places), the 5 tied 4th places would each be deemed to have dead heated with 2 others (ie 5 places taken, minus the 3 available).

That's just my guess but it should be covered in the bookmaker's Rules.

I'm copying this to our Golf section here. I'm sure Red or someone there will know the answer.

Explained on the betting thread shortrun, the each way ties in golf can get complex enough especially with 5 ties but hope you can make some light of it :emoticon-0148-yes:
