Saturday sees Conference side Gateshead play the final game of their regular season, knowing that they are just 90 minutes away from a place in the promotion play-offs.

The Tynesiders sit fifth in the final playoff slot, going into a home game against a Cambridge United side managed by ex-Newcastle Academy coach Richard Money.

Avoiding defeat against the U's will ensure that the 'Heed will compete in the playoffs, even if nearest challengers Braintree Town beat Grimsby Town in their final fixture.

Kickoff at the International Stadium is at 5.30pm and NUFC season ticket holders can take advantage of a £5 saving on the £14 adult ticket price, paying just £9 for entry on production of their season ticket card.

A discount deal offering all accompanied U16s entry (not just ST holders) for £2 remains in force, while over 60s are admitted for £9, and 16/17 year olds/Students £7.

Two-legged playoffs home and away are played on Wed 30.04.2014 / Thu 01.05.2014 and Sun 04.05.2014, with the winners meeting at Wembley on Sunday May 18th to decide who joins champions Luton Town in League Two.

Gateshead failed to achieve re-election to Division Four back in the 1959/60 season and have played at various levels of the non-league game since then.

Saw the best game of football I've seen all season today.

That useless shower of ****e that we go to watch at SJP should have been made to go and watch and see how football should be played.

The whole team played well as individuals and for each other. Some really good individual performances and I'll definitely follow them more closely from now on.

It seemed like quite a few of our younger supporters were there and chanted and sang throughout the match. They did us proud.

Great win for the Heed tonight beating league runners up Cambridge 2-0. Play off is now against Grimsby over 2 legs with winners playing either Cambridge or Halifax for a place in the FL.
Please go to their game and give them rousing support. At least you'll see players giving their all unlike that shower across the river.

Being a Gateshead lad originally, I'm up for the play-off leg at the Stadium. Come on the Heed!

Halifax are the team to watch - their main forward is particularly good for Conference level.
