I come in peace! Has the match at the weekend been sold out because I'm considering getting tickets in the Sunderland end <yikes> If I can get tickets do you think I will be safe or will get attacked? I won't wear my NUFC top but I don't know if I'll be able to control my emotions if we score or win etc Any help would be much appreciated, cheers

I've got to agree with Bart on this one...If you really had to ask if you would be safe jumping up and down in the away section in a Sunderland v Newcastle derby, you have either been living in a bubble all your life or you are not from these parts...
For the record it is a sell out, but even if it wasn't, you wouldn't be able to buy tickets if you don't have a history of attending Sunderland games...
 
Take no notice mate, find your tickets and wear your shirt with pride, not ne person would bother you, you would be welcomed and I'm sure drinks would be bought in the concorse.

This is the truth, trust me. It would be just like me coming to your place in my Sunderland top and joing you in your end, peace, love and understanding.

As a matter of principle any away fan who gets tickets in the home section deserves all they get and to do so is just asking for it. Health and safety is king these days and it shouldn't be compromised by the selfishness of certain individuals.
 
If any Sunderland fan knows of any ticket going spare, my brother is desperate for one..He couldn't buy one in advance because as a bank nurse, he didn't know what shifts he would be working until it was too late..
Just let me know on here if there is one, and I will make arrangements to collect it/pay for it...

To be fair, you could buy a mug in the SAFC shop in order to have the 'history' required to buy a ticket for this game.

I have a few mates going in the North Stand Upper, and have heard of many others going in the home end. Our fans always seem to do it, and cutting our allocation didn't help. I remember the 4-1 at the SOS, the amount of fights in the home ends was shocking.

Well if you are going to get tits like your mates venturing in the home end then you are going to get fights..
 
Cutting allocations rarely come from clubs but councils, police etc. This particular fixture could sell out numerous times at both the SOL and St Jameseseses. Buying tickets in the wrong end for both teams dramatically increases the chance of trouble whilst also denies fans (who would be less likely to cause trouble) tickets. Its both foolish and immoral.
 
my ticket is in the home end along with a few of my mates too, I've done it a few times and as long as you try to keep a lid on the emotions and not wind up the locals you have no worries.
just be mindful that if your 'inactivity' is spotted if SAFC score some of the locals may try to point you out to the stewards so just trot out the 'im a neutral mate' line.
Always best to have a plan B.

Where exactly in the home end are you? And how were you able to purchase these tickets?

I have family who are ST holders at the SofL and a mate who works in the admin team so we get looked after by one or the other when needed, of course with the caveat that we are on our best behaviour, don't open our mouths or wear any of our colours.

The actual tickets are towards the corner of the West stand I believe.

There were loads of mags there the last few times and with it one or two of our lot shot their mouth off and were quite rightly hoyed out but- joking aside your stewards were quite responsible.

We always used to sneak into the Wheatsheaf as the pre match watering hole.
 
I got the **** kicked out of me when i was 14-15 at roker park by about 20 of the biggest mags you are ever likely to see, because they came into the home end (stand K so a small section of the clock stand), coppers surrounded them, one of them made a bird call to the other side, fight broke out over there, coppers went over there, **** kicked off and it was mostly full of young kids and old people, but that didnt stop the twats.

fun day, NOT. I also took my mate for his first game as well, dont think he ever went back lol
