Greetings O'Connell10, TexaR and campbell, welcome to our world. It might take a while to get used to the different personalities on here but it's all good. This is like a QPR family kinda board where anything goes. Enjoy, and I hope you all stick around. We've had a lot of new faces come on here recently and then disappear. I hope you all invest some time getting to feel the mood of the varied posters and threads on here, it will be time well spent if you love the Rs. Welcome aboard!
Really appreciate the welcome guys. The truth is no matter where you go, no matter which country, you always have people who are suspicious of foreigners, or they simply just don't like them. We all have this tendency and I'm not sure that any of us will ever be able to quite get rid of it. What obviously we should do is try, however. And at other times we simply have to make adjustments for this band of folks. Not that difficult to do. I guess you could call me a "fanboy" of Park. It's not necessarily that he is Korean, and that he's a good football player. To me, I am a fan because he is such an interesting player who brings a lot of intangibles to any team. one of those intangibles is the fact that he wins everywhere he goes. Take for example when he went to Japan to play for Kyoto. They were in the scrap heap of the Japanese league and with his help they were able to have a prominent place in the Japanese league. During the World Cup in 2002, he was part of a team that was wildly successful. we could debate the questionable calls in a different setting. With PSV, he won the community Shield, the league, multiple times, and did very well in the champions league. And of course, with Manchester United, his winning record is astounding whenever he played with the exception of this last season which most of us fans feel is an anomaly. In any event, you all will really enjoy watching QPR win many games this season.
No suspision of foreigners here my friend. People are people and they fall into one or two categories for me.... Good or bad. In fact it was my old Korean neighbour in New Malden, ( huge Korean settlement in SW London ) who introduced me to Samgyeopsal. I've never looked back since.
Welcome guys, welcome. This is what we think of Overseas Hoops around here..... http://rollercoasterranger.wordpress.com/2012/06/07/this-world-of-rs/ By the way, I had my first ever hits from Korea on the blog yesterday, QPR are going global!!!
