Sunderland fans probably think that Davis is crap. But then again, if you told a Plymouth fan that all Paul Wotton could do was kick it out the stadium, they would probably laugh at you. I suppose the moral of the story is that it's not just a player's ability which is important but the support he gets from his club as well.

I'm not saying he's crap mate I said he was crap when he played for us. That's why I came on here, to ask you lads.

It seems he has matured into a decent keeper. I am pleased for the lad.

He's tightened up his game, even compared to last season. It's all confidence. His basic game is sound, IMO. His kicking, I can put up with.

When you go up, do you think he will be good enough in the premier league?

I see Leicester have sacked Erikkson btw.

    I'm undecided. I'll say probably.

Yep, news travels fast from twitter land. BBC confirms it too. Looks like Millwall are the new team to lose to if you want a new manager. It used to be us, a few years back.

Will you have the finance to improve the squad?

Read a few things about your new owners! You lads know better than me though.

Kelvin is doing well and seems very happy here which may explain it. He said recently: Southampton are my team now. I know what he meant; he's a supporter as well as a player. Our owners are not going to throw money around like Leicester, but there's money there for sensible spending on players when we need them. The money was available in the summer but was not spent for various reasons, so I think we'll get some players in January. However, Nigel will only spend on the right player and not just for the sake of it.

Good news & very sensible. Watched you a couple of times this season & was impressed with the style of football.

If you could improve your away record then you'd walk that league.

Once upon a time that terrace held 18,000.

Last time I was at Southampton you were still at the Dell!

Went to Roker a few times, better atmosphere than SOL. First time was in about '80, Keegan's first season with us, about 40,000 plus there that day, Saints won 2-1.
We were in a side terrace and you were lobbing golf balls at us from your end!!!!

Saints were a real bogey team to us in those days.

I may have been to that game, pretty sure it was ping pong balls though!

    Hi billy,

Kelvin has been brilliant for us. he's not perfect, but what goalie is? He is an amazing shot stopper, and under pardew and mostly Adkins he has tightened up his game, and is worth 10 - 15 points a season.

I have seen an exotic dancer fire ping pong balls from her front, but never a sunderland fan fire golf balls from his end. I am really looking forward to our away fixture at the SOL, hopefully next season so i can see this amazing party trick. <laugh><party>

Saints always did quite well at Roker....remember a midweek relegation crunch match there at the end of the season when Souness was our manager. Saints won 1-0, think you guys ended up getting relegated that season.
