Both may have a role to play in these last 6 games - but that's it.

Helguson is 36 and has had it. Gestede is 24 and has never had it.

Admittedly he was left on his own up there last night when he was brought on, but he was totally ineffective as a hold up player - I don't think he won a ball.

Time to part company with both and go for someone like Di Santo if Wigan go down.

agree that we have players who have more ability but rudy came on yesterday and did what was asked of him, and you're wrong - he did win some balls in the air. i was surprised we gave him a contract last year though.

di santo would be a slight upgrade on either of them but he's on the bench for a team which narrowly escapes relegation every year - we can do much better than that. HH is a championship player who has found his level, and i suspect both the player and his manager know that if we go up then he'll depart having played a part in our promotion....<ok>

Getting your head to a ball when your 6'4" isn't difficult - it's what you do with it that matters. Rudy didn't direct anything he might have got on the end of nor hold anything up for others to join him. That's what you go by when you mention "winning balls in the air".

Helguson was a Championship player - past tense. He might hold his own at a struggling club at this level, but next season he'll be a year older. He'll either get a one year contract with someone like Barnsley or Huddersfield if they stay up, otherwise it's league one and out thank you very much.

Might sound ungrateful, but his (and Rudy's) time has run.

Both Helguson and Gestede will need to go in the summer. I can't see either getting any game time next season.

Will always be greatful for their efforts in getting us to the top level after a 51 year wait but we will need better strikers.

Agree, HH did a decent job for us but another season is one too far. Gestede has never impressed me (not seen that much of him) but he's not premiership standard.

They will all go down as legends no matter what. They were part of what will be remembered as a special moment in time, and furthermore it will look good on their CV. However, most will move on to Championship clubs. I have hopes for Mason at a higher level, and was impressed with the dribbling skills of Kimbo (Gregg Farrell), and Mutch looked good. :emoticon-0103-cool:

KimBo now looks the business. Good work rate, picks a pass and is always available. He looks really comfortable with the ball at his feet. His more central role also seems to suit him. Saying that, apart from Mutch and Gunnar, the rest of the midfield seems very fluid with players popping up all over the park.

It was interesting that when Smith came on he indicated for Bellamy to switch from the right to the left and Bellamy said he was staying put. I think I prefer Bellamy on the left myself.

I've always liked Kim and dont understand why he'd not been used more often. Maybe more of of a prem player than a championship player ?
