You wouldn't need them to enjoy it mate As for Mignolet, he's better than the Reina of 2013 imo, a sickeningly good deal if you get him & offload Reina with only a tiny outlay & a much smaller wage packet. Can you just go back to buying overpriced ****e please, it was much more preferable to you doing good transfer business
Surely a keepers forward passes are nearer 100%? Why would they pass backwards when they are usually the last man? Short pass or long punt, they are all forward passes. I don't get it
Back on topic, it's always tricky to judge as you get plenty of keeper that perform well when they are constantly making saves etc, but stick them in a team where they have to make 2 or 3 saves a game and may do nothing for 70 minutes then have to pull one out the bag and suddenly they can't cope. That's something Reina used to be awesome at, but times this year we've seen where we've dominated and then conceded from the 1 shot opposition have had on target. You can't always blame Reina for them, but do think would the Reina of 2009 have done better? Mignolet has been talked about as a good keeper and I guess the only way to see if he has the concentration levels to be a keeper to help us get into the top 4 would be to give him a chance. He has age on his side and he'll want to perform to try and push into the Belgium squad as well as obviously performing well for us so should provide extra motivation.
As I've said above, I think Pepe is the best keeper in the world with the ball at his feet and in that respect, he fits our system very well. However, as I have also said in the past for teams like Barca which now applies to ourselves too; teams that likes to pass other teams to death and have a lot of small player sin the side tend to struggle at set-pieces. With this in mind, it would make sense to have a taller keeper who is very good at clearing danger and/or collecting corners, crosses and set-pieces etc.
