Bothroyd looks like hes off too, hes been left out of the Germany tour squad.

I dont think youll find many that will miss him, unlike Heider who should have never been sold.
Youll wonder how a 5ft 11 forward can win a header against a 6ft 3 CB every time.

As long as he can give a better return than Miller in terms of goals, to be honest I'm a tad apathetic to this signing.

Don't be. In QPR's last Championship season, he scored plenty of goals and defenses just could not deal with him. He's a monster in the air, he brings the ball down and passes and has a tidy, composed finish. He's also one of the best penalty takers and is positionally great.

Last season in the Premier League he was still giving defenses a hell of a time, beating a lot of top quality premier league players in the air. He was running away as our top scorer until injury struck.

And, in the past, he hasn't been plagued by injury. If he stays focused, he could be your player of the season.

I think Heider really fills a gap in our squad. Miller and Mason did exactly the same job last year. Selling Miller was a no brainer the way Mason played last year and I'm really happy he's out of the way to allow Joe to play through the middle and fulfill his potential.
That's not meant to be a dig at Miller, i thought he did a great job for us (most of the time).

Next season we now have strikers who offer different options. Add to that the bit of pace we acquired and we've got a great chance of not being so 1 dimensional. There's no dooubt we got found out a few times last season, when plan A didn't work we just cracked on with plan A again......

Thanks awjm, yours and other positive posts about Heider have perked me up a bit, looking forward to see how he does now :)

I'm chuffed to see him come to Cardiff, he can do a job for us and also help the youngsters.

agree with DJ, he's just what we need at the moment, we're short of proven quality up front, this guy scores goals at this level and will not let anyone down.

QPR are loaded with expensive strikers and probably wanted him off the books so i hope we got him for a knockdown fee or even free transfer.....

looking forward 2seeing him play for us <cheers>.......good luck for the new season rrrrrrrrrrr`s

QPR fan in peace (especially as daughter just moved to Cardiff!).

Always liked The Iceman. The thing I really like about him is his ability to 'hang in the air' as the footballing phrase goes. Time and again I've sat wondering how he does that as he seem to defy gravity momentarily.

IMHO, good signing for you and will be a good servant, role model and should score a fair few goals and likely at critical times too.

However, watch out for the odd howler where you will think, "How on earth did he miss that one?".

Good luck for next season.

As I was saying! Sorry. He will make amends, I am sure.
