Hearts defender Craig Thomson has been suspended with immediate effect following his conviction for indecent behaviour. Thomson was placed on the sex offenders register last week month after pleading guilty to two charges of indecent behaviour, relating to messages sent to a two girls aged 12 and 14. It initially appeared that Thomson's career would be unaffected by the conviction as Hearts stood by their player. The board decided not to take further action against the 20-year-old. But after outcry from supporters and children's charities alike, the board seems to have reconsidered. After further discussions between board members, Thomson has now been suspended. A statement on the club's website read: "Hearts today announce that Craig Thomson is suspended with immediate effect. No further comment will be made by the club." The decision casts major doubts over whether the player can now remain at Tynecastle.
It was always going to happen. You can't get put on the sex offenders register and keep your job. He has destroyed his football career.
I'm glad I don't rely on the Not606 news team for up to date news, they're so far behind it's not even worth them posting.
