I was actually quite pissed off with the ref up until he gave us the penalty on Sunday so I think it's a bit silly of Bruce to say what he did, which implied bias and is always going to get him in trouble.
The worst one I can remember is when Allardyce got fined for his comments after a game at Old Trafford. In that game not only did the ref give a penalty for handball to United but he then turned down a near identical handball appeal for West Ham. After the game Allardyce understandably came out with comments saying that United get the decisions at Old Trafford and that if one penalty is given the other has to be too. He got fined for implicating that referees are biased but what he actually said is what we've all known about refs at Old Trafford for a long time and worse still, he actually had pretty indisputable evidence for his case as the ref saw both incidents and only gave the one penalty.
Anyway, consider the one major decision going against you as a blessing. Against Stoke a couple of years back the ref missed Crouch handballing it in the build up to their opener, Huth elbowing the ball off the line, another less clear penalty shout and then he sent off kaboul for a nothing challenge. On top of that Adebayor got called offside by the lino for this:

There was a better photo that showed exactly when the ball was played just how far onside he was(about 2/3 feet) but the site it was on went bust but as you can see the ball has already been played and he's still well onside in that photo.
Anyway, be grateful you got an apology and expect more bad decisions to come against big sides. There are few better placed than Manchester City fans to judge the difference in refereeing between being a side at the bottom and a side at the top. Whenever I've spoken to one about it they've said they see a big difference in the decisions they get now they're challenging for the title, unfortunately that's the way it is. The best thing to do is to not hold grudges like I do
