Dear Tigggers Thank you all for your concern, we are touched by it. However, take some comfort from the fact that pre-season friendlies mean next to nothing as they are rarely competitive affairs and as long as the key players come through unscathed they have served their purpose in improving fitness and bedding 'newbies' in as far as is posible. We play Sunderland at The Walkers in this pre-season programme and indeed we may beat them - but even if we do that iwll mean little to me in terms of our prospects - but please do come back and have a chat after the first ball is kicked in anger - we play Peterborough first (as I'm sure you must be aware already)

But this thread was designed to discuss Sock Face's reaction to the result in terms of him saying the squad has a long way to go and his comments on his learning a few things about some squad members. Those comments indicate he is a good deal more concerned about the performance and result than either you or your fellow 'denialists' seem to be.

Strov - I'd be worried if he didn't sound pissed off - but the result will count for nothing come the big kick off - this is the time when players must earn their place in the first game starting line up - anyone not showing enough should be left out - I would expect that having lost that game our performance ill step up markedly in the next friendly .. but as long as e get it right in the first competitive game I really don't care about the scorelines in the friendlies..
