Gerrez he's a quality player - an upgrade on Lucas, and potentially a long term replacement for Gerrard. He can play anywhere, but Midfield is his preferred position. DM is probably his best position, but I've seen him play box to box and he was immense - he's a big strong powerful lad. At 20 years of age he has plenty of experience. I think it won't be long before he's an integral part of our starting 11 (once he's settled in etc.).
we'll see... i fancy he has more of a sturridge type career path than an alberto. Lets be clear the lad could have sat holding the apron strings safe at bayern but he punted to move to get experience and his move worked well for him. Thats factual. whats also factual is that alberto went on loan from seville who didn't seem to want him and barca b had him in a lower div and didn't want him and we stepped in to give 7mil for the guy. After that its opinion. Now he might suit the spanish league but he showed no drive thats needed for the fast paced physical league that we have... but he's got a bit of talent. aspas was a total punt and basically he was like michu except for the fact he was short, lacked pace and physicality and thus was a totally ridiculous waste of time and resource.... In short the no 9 shirt is badly stained and needs a new top top player to take it on. Same as the no 7 shirt.
