I mentioned a couple of days ago something that Kieron Brady said that made me change my mind about something. The abuse that Lafferty got was the very thing I changed my mind about. He got called an Orange bastard (allegedly). My appreciation of that sentiment was based around the fact that the term is not inherently sectarian, which it isn't. That is where I rested my argument and that is where it sat. Brady accepted that assertion but argued that the term can engender sectarian attitudes. I have come to adopt that position myself, but it is very hard to break that habit. I kinda wish the lad was a mute.
If I was this young lads defence lawyer , I`d be setting out to show to the jury that it could be reasonably inferred that lafferty is indeed an " orange bastard " and therefore a not guilty verdict should be delivered, at least on part of the charge. To paraphrase OJ Simpsons defence lawyer in his suming up of that case ; " if he is a tit, you must acquit "
not really sure why an announcement was needed to be honest...." venom rims clowns ".....its a bit like announcing the sun will rise in the east ps; when are we getting a clown emoticon ?
