This is indeed the game to boycott. But people still want to go to watch the opposition. Even though it is on Sky, also with this ticket bundle offer, it would have no effect. The Swansea game, if anyone did go, would need disruption, nothing to get kicked out over, hopefully few people will go & it'll get some attention. Maybe for the Man City game, something like whistles could be used, so no one could hear the referee's. People walking out in large groups, or in, in large groups. Under Dolan we used to have the chants, "Sit down if you want Dolan out," obviously here it would be "Stand Up if you want the Allams out." Also "Turn round" was another one. But that was easy then as everyone was together in the South & East stands. There must still be large groups who are near each other that could maybe get the rest involved? A bit like a flash mob scenario.
First of all, thanks Party, can't believe it took five pages for me to get my credit For those suggesting we do something at one of the televised games over Christmas, I'd just add the following: 1. People are getting tickets for Christmas, people already have tickets, and Christmas football is a longstanding tradition in this country. A boycott just isn't realistic. 2. Yes, "the world will be watching", but Hull City just aren't the story. The protests at the Leicester game looked good, but at 90 minutes the story was the champions had lost, not that the Allams had to go. When I first suggested the boycott, the idea wasn't to gain a lot of publicity (realistically we've maxed it out already), the idea was simply to say to the people running the club "we've had enough of this ****, if things don't change you're not getting our money". That doesn't even need to be a regime change in my book, I just don't want to continue paying money to an organisation that treats me with this much contempt.
Crowdfunding a large number of John Oxley's flag (within official limits of course) to be displayed at the Manchester City match on Boxing day. Volunteers to hand out the flags before kick off.
I don't need to do anything. Apparently, as long as you've campaigned once, you can spend the rest of your life slagging off anyone else who tries to do something for their fellow fan.
Yes, objecting to a gate is a simple and easy way to stand up to the Allams. All you have to do is click on the link and send in your comments. Making sure you quote the reference number.
Of course, instead of sponsoring games, donating money and helping the club in other ways as well in their darkest times, he could have disappeared and not attended matches for a decade or more then decided to grace the club with their presence and pompously lecture others about how they are doing something for their fellow fans.
A boycott for a game that most weren't going to attend anyway will be effective as those 6-8k that might have attended will reconsider and join the boycott.
My thouhhts exactly, all turn up on match day shown on Sky, and protest outside. Its win/win club lose gate money vendors lose income and can put pressure on soonsors will be equally angry FA will not like it Pemier league wont like it Sky will love it, great news copy players can still hear chants and be aware and the Allams will be made to look like...........
I haven't read all the pages of this thread but I'd have thought rather than targeting a single game as a boycott it would be better for any fan wanting to protest to stay on the concourse or outside until the 19.04 minute then all walk in together either singing city till I die or Allam out. Personally I think this would have a bigger effect as it would be for every home game but many who don't want to miss a game but still want Allam out are more likely to join in and to cameras catching everybody coming in late singing would have more of an impact than just empty seats
Yesterday on Blunderside a guy called in after the game. he spoke well but when Mike White asked him if he was going to boycott the Swansea game he thought for a second and said 'no, i'm going to be there for the players' or similar. IMO the players will know more than all of us exactly whats going on and that they have the 100% backing of Hull City supporters present or otherwise. Any boycott, protest or anything related to ridding the club of the current stench is to everyones benefit with a vested interest in the club. I want the players to be able to say, great club, great owners, great supporters, not how quick can I get out of here. Its crystal that there s simply no way of negotiation in any sphere with the incumbents. It's sad when posters in here have actually dropped into new Saturday routines and aren't missing the buzz and nerves of match day so not only have these faesces 'not' running our club ruined it and sullied its name, they have changed peoples ways of life. Anything that gets them put quicker can't be a day too quick.
100% backing of Hull City supporters...except for the ones that boo them and barrack them, and skulk off towards the exit while the players thank them for their support like yesterday.
