He will be playing on the wing therefore certain to be starting every game due to the fact we have no wingers <laugh>. Mata will still be playing behind the striker, I honestly don't know where this nonsense about Hazard wanting the number 10 has come from, he played left wing in a 4-3-3 for Lille.

Yes well that's the point, we have clearly started showing signs we want to bring through a new breed of young players. Drogba is the first of the old guard to go. We bought tons of young players last season; Romeu, Lukaku, Courtois, De Bruyne and Mata to name a few.

I agree with you regarding the manager to be honest, it is strange we're announcing business like this before one has been confirmed but then again Roman is probably 99% sure of who is taking the job.

Sames here, there's been so much back and forth, I hardly think he'd end it now. If this is true though, I hope this means we focus on snatching up Kagawa as those rumors have seem to died down since the Hazard rumors have been afloat.

Just curious Drogs, who do Chelsea fans want as the next manager? Di Matteo won you the FA cup and Champions League as an interim manager, but he got sacked at west brom in his last managerial job so I could see why RA would be a bit hesitant to give RDM the full time job. But RDM clearly deserves a shot for turning your under performing squad into champions of Europe.

    <laugh>

    Don't even joke about that ****e <yikes>

Tbh, I just think Robbie deserves a chance at the very least. He won a terrific double and arguably our most successful season ever after such a horrific season up until his arrival. I'd give him a 1 year contract with the view to extend it at the end of next season!

In a sense the fact that Chelsea's future is so fresh and uncertain makes it a more interesting proposition.

Chelsea are in a major transition at the mo. and Abramovich can promise he will be the main man, as the likes of Drogba, Lampard and Terry start to leave. He wont be promised that anywhere else. Plus Chelsea have the likes of de Bruyne, Lukaku, and Cortouis (his future long-term national team-mates).
He essentially has a blank canvas at Chelsea to make his mark on.

Highley doubt he's gonna flop either.

It's also possible he's told hazard that Guardiola is becoming manager, and used Hazard to tempt Guardiola?

Not sure whether or not Fergie saw him as worth that much of our budget, and whether we offered him a deal anyway.
I've liked the look of Kagawa for a while now, hope something happens.

im not really worried that hes gone for Chelsea ahead of us, he seems like another big headed player who could be trouble, he looks like another Tevez but he is a great talent though, Chelsea does have a good player though but his handling of transfer is not professional and disappointing and disgrace, he uses twitter to announce the transfer and then gives everyone suspense. i never seen a transfer where the player announces things ahead of the official clubs.

but no bitterness, i hope he does well for Chelsea and becomes a great player for them, it looks like the title race will eb three horse race with Man City and Man Utd and Chelsea because Chelsea will be stronger next season(all depends if they sort their manager issue's out, for me current manager should be given the job).

The fact we had a bid accepted and our terms were accepted ( according to Hazard/agent they agreed with all 3 and the fee was already agreed at Hazards release clause?? ) means we have circa.£30M to spend. That doesnt include the Kagawa money as we were after both him and Hazard.

So £30million..... who would you sign?

    *not gospel*

tbh I don't think he'll be another Tevez (not just saying that because he wants to join us) who was massively mislead by a money grabbing consortium, Hazard isn't. I think the media have created a storm in a tea cup over this particular transfer saga but I think the way Hazard went about the whole ordeal has been very unprofessional and rather bizarre!

agreed, he's a great player, hope he does well for Chelsea, next season's title race is going to be interesting, three horse race between United, city and Chelsea ( for me it depends on the manager, i hope Roberto stays, what else does he has to do to prove he deserves the job?) can't wait for the season to start already.

If I had £30 million I'd sign Banega/Martinez and Fellaini. Maybe £35 million between them. Cheaper wages between them, and actually centre mids.

Woudln't say no to that either. Modric seems to bottle the big games, but with a better team around him that could soon be changed.
However he'd cost at least £30 + million, which he really isn't worth.
Really like the look of kagawa though.

I feel like we also need a presence in the midfield alongside a technical (Modric/ Banega/ Kagawa) type player to be honest. Which is why I really like Fellaini. Probably wont happen though.
