Don't think I ever said he was? Excuse me, but who are you to judge where the pinnacle of horseracing is? We quite regularly get our asses whipped in the Breeders' Cup races and in Dubai?
Just a thought, how does the quality of horseflesh available to a trainer, determine the merits of a horseman? Most foals bred around the world do not make it to the trace track, and the vast majority of those that do, are of a rather poor standard. I'm sure there are a heap of decent men and women in the UK who would if given a decent horse, make a great fist of things. But they just don't get the patronage that AOB and the like get. It doesn't make sense to cast aspersions on one's professionalism due to the lack of opportunity.
Agree - and would also add that Cummings is judged on his Melbourne Cup record. If a trainer had won as many Ascot gold cups in that time period i am sure they would be held in similar regard - it is a remarkable record.
