Kurds on the ladder, Turks in Palmers Greek, bubbles mostly dispersed throughout Southgate and Winchmore Hill. I think the Greeks and Turks get on pretty well most of the time. None of the shops from Turnpike Lane to Manor House got touched during the 2011 riots, as big swarthy guys with kebab knives gave the looters second thoughts.
They do most of the time. A bunch of young lads were boxing on the roundabout in Southgate over it a few years back. I remember years ago a Kurdish March through Wood Green. Great bunch of lads. I used to go to a Kurdish cafe in Crouch End to cure a hangover. The last time I was over I went into it and before I could say " what the **** happened to this place" I was ordering a middle class breakfast from a drama student in a cafe full of nouveau Crouch Enders....... That was the last greasy spoon left in the place. The final resistance against the coffeeshopification of crouch end..... The battle is lost. The aspirational middle class have won.
Pretty much. Hornsey High St still rough and ready tho-largely due to having a massive council estate just behind it.
And now Dereck Chisora ****s himself from big Fury. Is there anyone out there with the balls to face big Tyson?
