I see the skunks have just signed Demi Stokes, who was released from Man City. They are certainly throwing Saudi money at a shot of competing in the Championship. Her experience will be invaluable, but she's not the player she once was.
It'll be interesting to see how it plays out if the bad run continues. The club have invested in the women's team and expectations will be raised for this season. Wonder if Jill Scott or Steph Houghton would fancy it.
Very poor start after a good campaign last season. Noticed that Brianna Westrup and Louise Griffiths were both absent yesterday. Are they injured? Other than that, we've only lost Claudia Moan in the summer from last season's first eleven. We were very tight defensively last season, so I don't know what's gone on over the summer. The club has brought in good reinforcements, both last year and this. I would stick with Mel for now, but if this form continues we'll need to look elsewhere. Eight goals conceded in 2 games is unacceptable. It took us 10 games last season to concede 8 goals. If there's trouble in the camp it needs to be stamped out.
Westrup was injured but I'm not sure about Griffiths. They need to turn it round quickly, it's a big difference to last season.
The Black Cat point is a really good idea, should boost the attendance quite a bit. Good pricing also.
