I guess its more difficult to go through the pain barrier when you know the only difference will be one position or two in the league. Realistically we can only get to about 8th/9th tops, we are not getting relegated and the chase for europe doesnt apply to us, im certain that if we wernt n europe the chase would be on. There might also be a few players looking at the shortened Holiday period in the summer and are easing off the Gas a little bit, knowing you have nothing to really play for can be a problem ad its one alot of our players havent had to cope with before, most of our boys have always had something to focus n these last few seasons so i can see the idea of being a bit mentally stale. If your half a yard slower in your head you are a yard slower with your body, im sure all the prep work done in midweek is spot on but how do you pickle the minds of millionaire footballers and make them winners every week? if you find the answer to that you find the answer to alot of other things in life!! Im sure we are going through a dip in form but when it came down to it over Xmas and other sticky parts of the season the boys reacted like true champs, we must give credit for that, if they had the ultimate mental toughness and resolve to win every week they wouldnt be playing through the leagues with the Swans or coming from lower end Spanish clubs.
