I must admit, I am certainly losing interest in the England team with all the over-paid prima-donnas, a manager coming in syaing he will pick on form but picks the same 'big' names and the general feeling of a lack of pride wearing the shirt. Pulling on the 3 lions should be the pinnacle of every English player's career, be it the first time, 50th or 100th... I can't wait until the remainders of the 'golden generation' are gone and we get some of the younger players in!

For football in general, I am getting rather bored of the Premiership, with the same couple of teams dominating and no-one coming close. It won't be a popular opinion but I'm glad to see Man City up there, although maybe not how they are doing it - but for me it's the only way to break the dominance. Spurs managed 4th and now look likely to be 6th because they don;t have the squad to cope with the Premiership and CL. For me, Man City is a big club with a very loyal support who are finally getting rewards of years of 'suffering'

As for Watford.... I will never get bored with them. We are a team that, considering our size, punches above it's weight. How many seasons have we had where we are doing something, be it challenging at the 'right' end of the table or having a good cup run, plus with a few premiership seasons! it is never boring being a Watford fan, on or off the pitch! If I'm honest, I'm getting worried about the current state of things off the pitch, which will no doubt effect things on the pitch... but I will always follow Watford!

Nicely put Kev ! I have a feeling that the next few feeks will be very indicative of the next couple of years!!!

Still cant get rid of the fear that we are about to be asset stripped! but we will see!
I was hoping that after meeting Mr B I would feel re assured, and to put it simply Im now even more scared!!!

The only thing I disagree with Kev in Man City. They are just Chelski mark 2 - they have bought their way into the Champions league and will either join the top 3 or maybe replace Arsenal if they cant get their act together but they are no refreshing breath of air

That's true Leonardo, but sadly, that is how football works now. Man City buying their way to 4th place, QPR buying their way to the Premiership, etc. The only thing you can say is that buying good players doesn't always spell success, you have to know what to do with them. To be fair, Mancini had a job on his hands controlling all the prima donnas in the pack. i think he's done a good job, making them work together, so yes, the money helped, for sure, but it's not always a guarantee for success.

It is not for one manager - but Man City are on their second since the billions came in - if you can put hundreds of millions into the club it is only a matter of time till you perm the right combination. There is no credit for Mancini any more than there is for QPR with their wealth in the Chamipionship.

i do lump Man City and QPR together, because they've gone about success the same way...however, you might be able to afford an airplane, but if you don't know how to fly it, it's pretty useless. So it is with the teams they've bought in, imho.

I did say I don't like their way of doing it.... But unfortunately if you don't have a Man City-type situation, the top-4 is a closed business - it takes a lot of money to get there, but more importantly, a lot of money to stay there. Everton managed it once but haven't made it back since. I don't think Spurs will make it for a while again either. The big-4' will now be a 'big-5' as Liverpool look like they are recovering, and I can't see it changing.... i just think it is good to have a different name up there and a bit of competition!

I feel pretty safe in saying there will never be a repeat of a Watford of '83!

OK - but I can't get excited about the increase in a big 4 to a big 5 in terms of competition - especially as it probably simply means the likes of Arsenall have to start millionairing too or they will not compete.

Agree with you in some respects H - but if you spend enough you can get an auto-pilot :)

I believe that it will become harder to maintain interest in Watford if Mr B does not communicate with the fans.

Still I have seen a few off in my time. Why worry about this one? My guess is that he will not be around for very long.

Well, I think it kind of helps having a Man City fan sit opposite me at work and we have some quite good banter. He is very much a pessimist when it comes to City!

I really do hate all the money that is in football and long for a change, but really can't see it happening while Sky is around and the big teams call the shots! I actually long for a European 'Super' League where we can get rid of these big teams, and then hopefully the 'powers-that-be' have the guts to bring in certain regulations about spending/financing which makes it about who can train the best players rather than who can buy them.... But we all know that will never happen!!

I agree too Frenchie - under Baz supporting the Horns will be more aggravating - but he is NOT Watford - he just owns it temporarily and we will see him out like we have others
