At last a sensible post ,especially the bit " ALLOW CONCERN OVER FORM". Our current form doesn't give any guarantees of even a point over Bristol or offer hope at Barnsley, but perhaps a good shot at beating Cardiff in the last game . Championship results have been crazy this season. I want us to go up but hope against hope it isn't on the back of a Watford "Bottle" or a Leceister "resurgence" but more by playing to our full potential and feeling good about it.
Promotion....in my opinion i will eat my own goolies IF we dont go up. I am posative we are going up as i have been all season. Watford will drop more points then we will which is what i said after they beat us at the KC. We are going up.
Scarboro-You have planted a very unpleasant image in my head and I now NEED us to be promoted. Personally I would suggest the local caught seafood
The reality is that every club in this league could have finished at the top. Having PL players in the squad, spending bucket loads on players this season, stretching the rules on loans, nothing has guaranteed results. On the pitch there is no great divide. This is like reading the last page of a book just so you can read from the start without concerns. I am revelling in the uncertaincy. A close run race to the finish, were we are ahead, is nothing more than exciting.
Watford will only pick up 4 points from the 3 games remaining.. Course thats just my opinion. Thats fish , chips , mushy peas for you in filey Cafe '. And chips mushy peas and 2 meat balls for me. Arghh
Its up to us to win on Friday night. Need to score early (if we'd done that last night Wolves would have folded under the weight of the crowd) Hope we get a large crowd, even though its on Sky, with the new season pass holders cheering on their future investment. City to win, 3-0.
Some people take some pleasing ffs. Wolves were fighting for their lives last night and if we had scored first they would have dropped their heads. Still some twists to come. I suppose there will now be queues outside the KC again this morning, with people returning next seasons passes.
Let's be honest if we are to lose a match then the best thing also to happen is that the team chasing our place in the table also has a defeat. The next game for us and Watford is going to be very interesting - Bristol City is going to be a game that we are all expecting to win, technically all Bristol have to play for is pride but it is a game where they could win. Incidentally when was the last time we lost 2 matches in a row. But if we win then that will put massive pressure on Watford as they know they have to win, otherwise they face the play offs and their form is not good - and each season the team in form (Bolton atm) seems to win it.
3pts for both ourselves and Watford last night, and we would have been happy. This exactly the same, except slightly better in my eyes because it keeps Watford on their terrible run of form. We know that we can lose games, and bounce back to win, it doesn't appear that Watford are doing that at the moment. 'It was a weird feeling coming home from the game, but not one of dejection. I was pretty pleased overall.
City have been excellent at responding to defeats this season. I expect we'll see such a response on Friday night from Bruce and the team.
I must say to answer the original question is i have been happier after a defeat, when we lost to man utd on the last day of the season in 2009 and still stayed up. anybody agree?
If bristol city lose and blackburn dont then we are up.. Going on some other thread.. Its other teams getting us promoted
I have never laughed as much as i did @ Wolves last night. 20 headless chickens running about and doing very little. A Flat atmoshere more akin to a pre-season friendly. Wolves showing why they are where they are and City thinking it did not matter imo. At least the pre-match pub meal and match programme made things better than it actually was. As for the laugh - well the Wolves fans contacting the local radio show once the team news was in was fantastic. What made it funnier was that these same so called Rubbish Players looked quite good on the day. Even the news of Hull City losing could not get Watford the win and that also was funny. A night to remember and A night to forget. Roll on this frdiay when the 6 can hopefully be 9.!!!
Utter rubbish ^^^ this. We should be home and hosed. End of. At least the stumbling gives some moaners something extra to moan about ffs.
well, as Wolves was a non-starter for me, I ventured out to the New Den to see the opposition last night... cheering on the home side naturally. I have to say that Millwall were pretty shockingly poor in the first half. I mean really poor. They couldn't string two passes together. Confidence and communication were in short supply. On more than one occasion players tripped over. Two defenders ran into each other and fell over leaving the ball for the Watford forward. It really was that bad. But for all that Watford didn't really do that much. Yes, they looked quite free-flowing at times but there was no end product. There were a couple of goal-mouth pinball moments but not really many chances. So despite our defeat last night I'm not convinced that Watford are in too good a shape just now. But we'll see...
Let's just see what effect having no relegation or promotion fears means to Bristol and Cardiff. Could be a situation where Cardiff slip up on their next two games and we are in a position to overtake them on the last day. Let's look up, not down, whilst not counting chickens.
Buzzing about the chance to do it , nobody said it's all over but look at the position we are in This season has far exceeded my expectations
