Also with Hughton in talks with Norwich, Brum are soon going to have a vacant managers post where a certain Mr Bruce used to work. I know they've got financial difficulties etc but it's something else to stall our managerial appointment.
Steve Bruce wants another day so he can read the Hull City forums before making up his mind. Fook , we will never get anyone now !
Hate the thought that we are going to be his "last resort" because if that is the case how long will he hang around, probably will always be looking over his shoulder for a way out with a Prem club.
Birmingham City have given Niorwich permission to speak to Chris Hughton now. He would be the correct choice, imo.
I don't get the whole "last choice" thing. Does anybody think that for any manager in the world, we would be first choice? Even Nick Barmby would probably turn us down for Man Utd or Barcelona. It's all about expectations, in the same way that Bruce isn't technically our first choice (it would probably be Mourinho, or Fergie), but we look at what is realistic, and take the best available option. If we get Bruce, it will because we believe that Bruce is our best available option, and Bruce will believe that we are his best available option.
If we had offered him the job 2 weeks ago and he had been stalling to see what else was available then you'd have to consider his commitment to coming here, but the fact is we have only offered him the job today, so only now we will see how interested he is
Most sensible post of the week award. It always annoys me when people are accused of 'not being first choice', as you quite rightly say unless you are Jose Mourinho then NOBODY is first choice.
Well we dont know that do we? It's being reported today, we might have offered him it 2 weeks ago and it was kept quiet while he considered his options. Now we might be more confident so have leaked the news.
