    we won the FA cup in the same season you won the CL. :). since then you have only won 2 more trophies than us, but that doesn't make you better, you have become a mid-table cup side, :).

    I mean Birmingham and Cardiff and even Spurs have won more trophies than us in the past 5 years, hardly proves anything does it? Winning the odd trophy here and there happens, what really counts is winning trophies on a consistent basis while maintaining your top spot, something Liverpool have NOT DONE since the 80's. At least we have managed that in the modern era of football, when we were consistently winning trophies while maintaing our spot at the top, get the difference? Having said that, even while we have failed at wining trophies, we have managed to maintain our position in the top 4, while you have completely fallen off.

    What is the financial situation at Liverpool these days?

    I would say that their ability to spend some more money to strenghten would have more bearing on their likely position in the table.
