Well after the excitement of lowly Plymouth last week, today we meet the much recovered Luton, who a few years back were playing the likes of Dartford in the conference. Given the run we're on I'll be hoping for at least a point, and more if Taylor and Grant keep up the form. But it's Charlton, anything could happen. 2-2 draw
HT 1-0 up Playing well in a tight, nervous game Luton look dangerous going forwards Next goal is massive Superb away support today
Difficult game, looked like we going to come away with nothing after some poor work by Steer in the senond half. Their first goal was dire. Unbelievably we hit the bar twice in the last min, before Solly volleyed home well from a corner. I was on the floor in the melee that followed. Magnificent support up there today, and one of the best away trips in many a year. Need to tighten up at the back though.
Happy with that, can’t win them all, and to equalise that late on must’ve been limbs everywhere. I’m heading up to Scunny Tuesday for first away day this season, fancy us there
Yeah. We talk about our defence as if they were some sort of wall, but tge late goals we need say otherwise. Still, in the end I'll take the point and the performance that gave it to us. Sounds like the fans were great again.
Amazing scenes at the end mate ... I went forward about 3 rows and ended up wedged in the floor with a complete stranger on top of me
The defence was sh1t in truth today. Steer is in NO WAY better than Dillon Phillips And Naby Sarr was terrible.
Am I right in thinking his only goals before today were Orient and Blackpool away? Was at both, gutted to miss today’s
It did - cemented Solly’s reputation as a cult hero. Good finish as well. Imagine hitting the crossbar twice in injury time !
That’s correct. We totally out sang Luton throughout the game and the “Solly Song” rang round Kenilworth Road at full time
Hats off to Luton Town (no pun intended). The best side we have played so far this season, Sunderland included. Nathan Jones is clearly doing a good job there. Our defence misses Bielik and Bauer, and Dillon Phillips must be the unluckiest keeper out there. Jed Steer is not as good as Declan Rudd, and is nowhere near Ben Amos.
His got to be getting pissed off mate I don't think steer is any better than Philips. And over the last couple of years his not done a lot wrong , he could be playing 1st team football in this league
