    Dai

You do not run this forum like your personal fifedom for you to insult people when they respond to you and for then to say it is my fault for not ignoring you. You have no concept of "debate" and have an obvious agenda against me with continued patronizing and condescending insults directed at me....yet you have never once removed a post or apologised, but yet cry to the mods immediately that you feel the least bit slighted. I take the more grown up version and try to appeal directly to your better nature. It seems I am yet to find it.

I could get VERY personal and insulting also, but I am better than that.

My fellow posters also deserve better than that tonight. They also see you for what you are.

Goodnight. I sleep well tonight knowing I am not you.

I think that this summers transfer dealings must rank as one of the best for our club, I think the Cannas deal was great business, and made up for the Bony transfer fee, but we need to be patient on results, as Laudrup has battles on two fronts, Europe and the League, and it will take time for the squad to settle and click into place, and for Laudrup to decide who does what, and who goes where regarding the two competitions.

When you think of all the negative press on the rift between Huw Jenkins and Laudrup early summer, and how it has all fallen back into place so well, with all the transfers we have done, it's credit to our board, and of course Michael Laudrup too, so the way I see it lets be positive and support Laudrup and the team, and show some patience, until everything clicks into place, some of our signings including Bony, need time to adjust to the pace of the Premiership, after all it took Graham half a season to make the step up, and I have every confidence that Bony will come good!.................<ok>

They are going about their business with ambition and first mover mentality in a rather cutt throat environment. I do wish Laudrup would quite down with the our league nonsense. They are in your League, it's called premier League, and think if all the managers started on that, it wouldn't sound as wise then right.

Of course the whole thing is a spanish thing, in La Liga they do exactly talk about the league without Real and Barca, and who will win it. But it doesn't transfer to PL, the gradient is much more linear and too many teams are highly ambitious. A Getafe manager wouldn't start talking about Atletico or Valencia as out of their league now would he? No, enough of that to the tv cameras thank you. Onwards and upwards.

Must say I was very aprehensive with the Canas signing, and hadn't seen anything in him until Sunday. He was avery busy player breaking down the paly and chased everything, think that was his best game in a Swans shirt. He has that dogged grit not affraid to get his foot in, just the player Ivor's been looking for.

Bony will be a great player as mentioned just needs time to adapt the PL and the players and the goals will come. I will put a tenner on him getting 15-20league goals this season.

Like Dai I've had some concerns about Bony in that being a Scotlandesque player he can't get away with that in the Prem and needs to work much harder imo. That said he dispatched his goal v Man U with aplomb and looks like he could have a decent partnership with Michu once they get on the same wavelength.

However, I have noticed the Spanish lads looking for each other when making passes - particularly close to the opposition's box. Particularly noticeable in the recent European home game when Pozuelo tried to set up Michu when Bony was unmarked. He was furious. Hope this is just my imagination, don't know. We need to work as a team and like any striker Bony will rely on service. If he doesn't get it he'll flop here.

The guy is robust though, whilst knowing when to go down. I like that. He also has an eye for goal and is willing to have a pop. I like that too. Think he'll come good.

Bony has started precisely one premier league game, it's bit early to write him off. Who'd have thought after all that crap in the summer over Laudrup, Huw, Williams etc that we'd be in the position of having lost no players, strengthened the squad, signed a record breaking striker, and kept hold of Laudrup. How can any Swans fan not be impressed?

With the new tv deal a £7m pound player is now a £12m pound player so we must Think like this. Negredo was our first choice target but due to the sliding rule of cash and man city being interested it was out of our reach.

I had bony down for 12 to 15 goals this season i Think he already has 4 ! Like kj has correctly pointed out he needs the correct service and the pass in the right place, if he had been on the field against wba he probably would have slotted that pass from michu instead of pablo .

He is going to be a great signing for us but he Will be a sensation just yet, i Think he needs alot of time to adjusted to this league but he has hardly played so far, i like what i see with hin but lets not expect 20 goals plus because of his inflated price tag

It's as good as it gets for us, roll on another season with the current crop and Laudrup at the helm, with Huw running the show (in the background) :emoticon-0148-yes:

Dai often has a skewerd opinion on certain players
And I honestly think he doesn't watch us half the time
If he did he would see that Bony will ba a great player for us

Its wrong to try and Judge new players after only a few games he did a
Similar thing with Danny Graham too

And we all knew how well he did in his first season, scoring 12 crucial goals

Perhaps people should give Bony and our other new signings a bit of time eh?
Realising this fact will stop certain people making them selves look silly in the future
It would also take away some of the aring on this forum regarding players being good enough after 3 games
Cant understand why somebody would want to be so vocal about this player when its already been proven he has ability and has scored 4 goals
Keep the faith lads, its very early days and too soon to judge anything, wait till we have played 10 games

Bony sucks in two/three defenders when anywhere near goal area, which frees others, and that fact alone should produce goals, maybe not for him,but it's a team game.
He does have something of Scotland about him, hopefully he will be as prolific as Jason was.

If Bony scores anywhere near the number of goals Scotland scored I will be one happy man. Saying that If he does score regularly, yet again we will have to find the next one again. I think Bony will come good and will prove his worth.

I've been impressed with Bony, big physical, a real hand full for defenders. He pulls people to him and free's up space for Michu a d others to run into. He also seems to win us free kicks. I expect him to get 10-15 goals in the Prem for us, Michu weighing in with a similar number. Another plus is that he's not afraid to have a pop at goal and he seems to have a hell of a shot with little back lift of his leg. When this this new team gels, and it is a new team, we will score a hat full. With any luck it will start against Liverpool and we will score early!

Monty who has said anything about writing bony off. I cant see anyone certainly not me. I said he has not showed anything special yet and i put that down to being about half a yard short of where he should be and if he was to shed a few pounds he may gain that bit of pace needed to be a £12 million player. as yet i have not seen anything that says he is worth that amount of money and hopefully he will get better. ...

We don't know if they're fantastic signings yet. Far too soon to be rushing to judgement.

For all the hype surrounding Shelvey so far, his talent for easily surrendering possession and making moronic tackles has cost us before and will cost us again against better sides than WBA. Bony too needs to pull his finger out and start controlling the ball properly as his first touch has been little short of Alsopesque. Amat looks months away from being ready, and Vasquez will need to significantly improve on his La Liga goal rate to add anything to proceedings. The best of the bunch appear to be Canas and Pozuelo, but both have played best against the worst opposition. Still a lot to be proven.

There is no way a player could come up to a £12 mill valuation in under 3 Prem games so I fail to see the point of the negative slant taken by some. He could have scored 8 goals but then not scored for the rest of the year!! He could get injured after half a year. He could blah blah blah.

The premise of the posts are futile and an exercise in shock statements backed by stating the obvious when retracting. It seems some people are just never happy.

Don't understand why we cant take the philosophical approach
And just give the new guys time
Its a bit harsh to label the faults after a couple of games so we must be careful

It can lead to players losing confidence early when the terraces start muttering about how good or bad players are
Surely the players themselves know if they are on their game or not

Also, everybody was raving about shelvey early on,including myself but I understand he needs time to adapt his short game after watching him play.

Teaching the new guys our system of play isn't a 5 min job or a five game job for that matter
When they have had a god run in the team they we can judge I reckon
Another point to make is how long it takes people to settle into a new culture/league/home etc,etc . Its not easy I can tell you.
Time will tell with these boys so lets give them a little bit of it please, im all for being objective ,that's fine but it looks like some cant wait to stick the knife in.
