I don't know where this comes from but I hope this is his words. I'm glad he has commented because it stops all the conjecture and the use of the vendetta excuse. Its there plain and simple, be professional there is a role for you, act the tit and you're out. Olive branch offered if true, ball well and truly in HBA's court. Will he finally grow up and take it upon himself to get fit and fit in with the team?

I have to say he wouldn't have got this chance if it was up to me. I think he ran out of lives ages ago.

It's from an interview with Pardew on BBC Radio Newcastle.

No sense giving up on anyone ever. So he has been a massive idiot. if he has a road to Damascus moment and says: "Sorry for the trouble, I'm here to graft now" you'd be mad to exclude his talents because of the past. He may not deserve another chance but that doesn't mean it's sensible not to give him one.

I can't agree to be honest. You have to be careful about how many chances you give as it can weaken your powergrip, which like it or not is required at times in all walks of managerial life. Look at Sir Alex he openly admitted that control was a massive issue. I don't mind 2nd chances. But this is getting to 9 or 10 and I wouldn't want it upsetting the staff or playing staff. I can only assume Pards is confident it won't weaken him in the eyes of the players or upset anyone internally. I just wouldn't have the patience personally.

    Oh, I agree with that.

It has to be clear that he has acknowledged he was in the wrong. He then has to wait on the manager's pleasure and can't simply walk back in to the team. After a suitable display that the manager is in charge and that it is Pardew making the decision, the decision should be made on footballing terms: will he help the team by playing.

Finally, at least he's clarified the situation which is all most of us were asking for.
