Did Joe Baker score a very early one, in the Fulwell End, against Sheff Weds , night game, early 70's. I remember clearly except for wether he did actually get three, certainly one though !

That Cardiff game was Stan Andersons last game for Sunderland.

My fave Hat-Trick is Gary Rowell (first visit to Sid James Park) :emoticon-0148-yes:
Most depressing Hat-Trick must be Clive Mendonca <wah>

That one was way to the back of my mind where I'd managed to hide it.
It comes out top of the most embarrassing time as an SAFC supporter I reckon.

    Anyhow, thanks for reminding me.:emoticon-0106-cryin

Kevin Nolan at some match during the 10/11 season.... Nah it was actually Shearers 10 minute hat trick against Leicester which took us from 3-1 down to winning 4-3.

Scored his hat-trick goal in the fulwell - I was in the Roker end and jumping about like an idiot as he left the field - had no idea why he'd been sent off until I heard the radio afterwards!!

Seem to remember Craig Russell putting 4 past Kasey Keller in the Roker End the game after he cheated to get one of our lads sent off. Think Martin Smith got one or two as well. Did I imagine it or did that happen!? Was a highlight of that period watching the lads but might have the detail all wrong haha! Anyone on here got a memory that works?

It was a massive game, mate. Us and Millwall were first and second, I remember being nervous on the way to the ground that day. I shouldn't have been though because we thumped them 6-0 and The 'jarra arra' Craigy Russell bagged 4 that day.

Remember an amazing atmosphere and am sure I hadn't seen us score that many ever (or since probably!) Did Millwall go completely downhill after that game and we went from strength to strength? Also 83 can you remember something about Keller having cheated in a game against us previously and so him getting thrashed being all the sweeter? Wish I could remember this stuff like others seem to be able to, happy times!

Millwall were top when we played them - we won 6-2 - they never won another game that season I don't think and got relegated!

I remeber beating Southend 7-0 and Rotherham 7-1 (think they were both in the same season) Sure Gabbiadini got 4 against Southend

Edit - think there's crossed wires here!! The 6-2 was before the Premier League (92 I think) and the 6-0 was around 1995. But either way - they were both great games!

I was going to say, definitely 6-0 because it was just before Christmas when we played them.

I remember battering Oxford 7-0 at the Stadium Of Light and Tranmere 5-0 in the same season.

Yeah mate. I'm sure it was Don Goodman he smacked and when Goodman retaliated Kasey Keller played on it for everything that he could. ****er.

Yeah I just looked it up after I posted and I was right!! We beat them 6-2 in 92 and 6-0 in 95. Tranmere 5-0 was 22nd August 98 - I know for certain as it was the day of my first marriage - wish I'd gone to the ****ing game now!!!

You missed a cracking game. Sorensen made an unbelievable save that game. He got caught out on the edge of his box and the Tranmere player hit a perfect lob straight over the top of him, but somehow he managed to turn around and make up the ground to get back to the goal and with a twisting dive was able to palm the ball just over the bar as it was dropping in.

Sunderland 6-0 Millwall was my youngest daughter's debut, and she's 'loved' Craigy ever since.

Millwall were top at the time, but went on to 'win' relegation so to speak :emoticon-0100-smile

Russell scored 4 with Martin Scott scoring a penalty (after Phil Gray was fouled by Anton Rogan) to open the scoring and Phil Gray scoring the other one.

What a lovely day for a debut appearance :1980_boogie_down:
