I would have loved Warnock to have got it till the end of season but it looks like he has other more pressing issues. The thing is did he even want the job in the first place....It's frustrating being a supporter , you just have to suck everything up you are given. Welcome Mr Tasselwank
What is wrong with you?! We can't tolerate such positivity on this board. Now go and stand on the naughty step! Seriously though, very well put. Coudn't agree with you more
Neil Warnock backs Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink for Queens Park Rangers success please log in to view this image © Getty Images 0 0 3 3 By Daniel Lewis, Football League Correspondent Filed: Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 11:40 UK Last Updated: Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 11:40 UK Interim Queens Park Rangers manager Neil Warnock has insisted that incoming boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink will take the club up another level. The Hoops are expected to announce the appointment of the Dutchman prior to the weekend, having been granted permission to speak to him by current side Burton Albion. Warnock has been placed in temporary charge of the West London outfit since Chris Ramsey's sacking exactly one month ago, but he is confident that Hasselbaink is the right man to take over full time. "He set off with a good squad [at Burton] but took them up a level, and I think he can do that here," the experienced boss told talkSPORT. "If we had won last week at Middlesbrough, which we should have done, we would have been two points behind the playoffs and I don't think there is anything to fear in this league. It is a great opportunity and a fabulous club. "I think the squad only needs tweaking. There are probably a couple of positions that need a bit more strength in depth but there is a great chance of getting in the playoffs. And once you get in the playoffs, anything can happen." QPR take on Reading at the Madejski Stadium this evening looking to close the gap on the playoff zone, which currently stands at five points. http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/footbal...60415.html#$$nys6gb&&u9yDwpm0EeWMuAoKhagnpw$$
JFH has a good win/loss ratio in his short career albeit in a very different challenge. But for those hoping for free flowing football don’t get your hopes up too much. In 20 games Burton have scored 24 goals and find themselves 1st. Barnsley bottom in 24th have scored 25 goals!!!!! So results inmproving is an exciting prospect but the football on the pitch... not so much On that basis it would suggest that likes of Chery and JET wont get much of a look in. What bother me most about this appointment is that there is again the feeling that decisions are made to protect Les. Just as there are signs the team are on the long over-due upwards curve and before that run gets going the urgency to replace him jumped up a gear and minds were focused
Damage I agree with the point that his successes are very much based on defence first, and then goals, which as you correctly said it improving results but the football may not be so great. However, the thing that may excite JFH, and possible play into his hands is if he can sort out our defence (as Warnock has started to) then with the more creative players we have, we may be able to score more anyway. I think the biggest problem he may incur will be ensuring our players have a hard working, winning mentality. Because that for me is the biggest formula for success, and nobody is too good to work hard.
Hard work is one part of it but also of relevance is the managers level of tolerance for risk taking and allowing creativity. Will the manager allow players to make runs out of position in order to make themselves available for a pass to create a chance or take a shot or does that manager want players to rigidly hold there shape and worry forst and foremoset about not conceding and retaining possesion Best comparison is JFH going to be more like LVG and Uniteds current style or more like Jurgen Klopp's?? Both teams work hard but both managers have different views on risk taking and creative freedom. Unfortunately stats suggest JFH is more like Louis Van Gaal than Jurgen Klopp in terms of style
Completely agree, although I'm much happier and enthused by the fact that the contrasting styles are that of successful managers rather than your Chris Powell's and Tim Sherwood's.
Damn stats........but maybe, just maybe he didn't have sufficient flair players at Burton to allow the side to be more adventurous.........at least we have players like Fer, Chery, Phillips, Austin, JET, Hoilet that would allow a more free flowing style and that maybe the reason why he felt he could take this job.....we'll find out soon enough.....
Hey lads there is nothing official yet & may yet turn us down! don't always agree with what dave mac says as he's told a few porkies of late, so we await.
QPR Want The Manager They’ve Just Sacked to be Their New Manager’s Assistant please log in to view this image Daniel Caw December 3, 2015 The term ‘basket case’ may have been invented specifically for Queens Park Rangers. The Championship club have bounced from one disaster to another over the last few season, enduring two relegations since 2013 and hiring four different managers in the same space of time. The latest coach heading for the exit door at Loftus Road was Chris Ramsey, with the former Tottenham assistant manager sacked last month following a mixed start to their domestic campaign. But, apparently, his departure could be quite short-lived, with reports beginning to circulate claiming that he is set for a sensational return to QPR – as his successor’s assistant. According to London newspaper The Evening Standard, Ramsey remains on good terms with chairman Tony Fernandes and has been approached to become part of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s backroom staff, should the Dutchman complete his expected move from Burton Albion this week. Veteran manager Neil Warnock is currently in charge of the first-team, but it remains unclear what sort of role he’ll have, if any, when Hasselbaink takes over. http://talkingbaws.com/2015/12/qpr-want-the-manager-theyve-just-sacked-to-be-thier-new-managers-assistant
It's not Tim Sherwood, I'm happy. In all seriousness whilst he took on a team on the up, they have only gone on to rise from there, not sure what everyone was expecting but someone excelling at a lower stage and QPR giving him a chance to prove himself higher up, thought that was the QPR of old that everyone wanted. As it's been mentioned every appointment is a major risk and I'm definitely willing to give him a go. Come on Jimmy's RRRR'sss
This was my worry as he'd only been there a year, especially as Rowett has also done well since, but I hadn't looked into it in such detail.
It's a funny old world........could be an inspired move or it's just some wannerbe journalist filling up tomorrows chip paper.....
