I feel short has had a look at breaking into the top 6 and cannot believe how much money that would take and it would still be a risk. We are looking to improve gradually. If short decides to go no doubt the money he has spent will be come the clubs debt. All these owners make money out of the clubs always have always will otherwise what is the point. Looking at if if the wage bill is 75% more than turnover then we cannot sustain it. However looking at our attendances and looking at other clubs the rest of them must be up s~~~ creek. it's amazing how much money the premiership earns any yet most clubs are in debt as the money is being taken out by owners and vastly overpaid footballers not to mention agents. So do we plough on look to make the club safe. The new regulations next year should be interesting....

I don't think it is the same as the old days. When we are selling player's now we are getting a good price, we used to sell them for the bare minimum.

Today’s gossip is sell Hendo to Liverpool for 20 mil and bring in Welbeck, Gibson and Brown from Man U.

I don't think anyone would baulk at that deal Syd but my point is I can see the first bit happening but I'm very sceptical about the other happening? More like we will sell Henderson and look to replace with Bosmans available not meaty buys?

All the rhetoric currently coming from the SOL is more or less preparing us for this and we are going to have to like it or lump it as fans. However, as I stated, this kind of 'planning to fail' sentiment is a well worn one around the corridors of power at SAFC. It hasn't taken long for the current regime to start to quote from it and we all know where it ends up.

My worry with us, is selling players without having ready made replacements, either in the squad or waiting to be paid for.
I wasn't bothered when Bent left but not to have a replacement lined up was scandalous. Especially as the twat had been trying to get away for months.
I have never seen this player in Henderson that others have, £20 mill will be damn fine business and doing it now gives us time to get in another midfielder.

Everytime we show interest in a player the players value suddenly increases and other teams then try to gazump us.
Like N'Zog if Bruce was interested why didn't he go in with a reasonable offer from the start, pretty sure the money being asked now is more than it was when we first went calling.

This.
Every player has a price, even Ronaldo was sold after having an incredible few seasons for Man Utd, at the time he was possibly the best best player in the world but when the right offer was on the table they sold him.
