I dont think he has, I just think he makes the team nervous by "keeping it tight", trying to "sneak a set piece" etc. Basically play every game like Reading did today. Its only when we go 1 or 2 goals behind that the play changes and then its usually too late.
I think that's hard on Mbia. I haven't seen any lack of effort on his part. He gave his all at Arsenal, and in the end went over the top. Park too, puts in a good shift but isn't being used properly imo. Zamora seems to be disillusioned with football generally which is a worry. SWP, Traore and Bosingwa are typical of players who see their best days (at Man City, Arsenal and Chelsea respectively) behind them, and have lost that zest for their game that would take their play to a higher level. I think Bosingwa in particular, is in a bad place. I agree, I don't think he wants to play for us but the money's too good to turn down. He goes through the motions. These players need to be motivated. They must want to give their all for the team. I sense MH is not a good motivator. I don't think he's lost the dressing room. But he doesn't light it up either. Thus, we may struggle this season for as long as he stays.
SWP does try and Mbia really does care (everyone is basing the fact that "he doesn't care" on that on the fact a journalist reported that he did know who we were....is this really likely to be true) As another thread said; These are pro-footballers, whose entire life rotates about winning...they may jump ship for more money, but they still want to win every match....and when they have their boots and kit on, even if it just a kick about, surely they want to win. Their "sellability" comes from their perceived ability...surely none would not care and under perform ....surely
Yes, it was very noticeable but have you considered the possibility he had been instructed to stay forward as much as possible by MH?
I didn't see that Damage. There in a nut-shell is the difference between being at the ground and watching on Telly. That's a total disgrace. He should be reprimanded for that.
http://www.goal.com/en-my/news/3889...kend-arsenal-goal-too-good-to-be-true-for-van Haunted by Harry Hallowe'en has been and gone but Mark Hughes still can't exorcise the ghost of Harry Redknapp. Over his shoulder the spirit hovers, writing spectral cheques and hissing "triffic ... triffic ... triffic ..." in an ethereal voice. Driven increasingly to distraction by the spectre of his certain successor (come on, let's not kid about this), the QPR boss is starting to realise that we can all see 'Arry just as well as he does. It got worse after a 1-1 draw with Reading that leaves the Rs winless with four points from 10 games, a situation that will have Redknapp's jowls bouncing with excitement, when a journalist at the post-match press conference "accidentally" called Hughes "Harry". "No, my name's Mark," replied the Welshman, so at least he hasn't got everything wrong this season. But the figure behind him grows ever more corporeal by the day. Literally*.
It happended and it sums up our season. Personally if I was Hughes I would have taken him off and then left him to rot in the reserves as we need to send out a strong message. Rubbish!! He lost the ball once again. Got some stick from the crowd for being useless and walked back as he was sulking. Ball was bouncing around our box whilst he slowly walked back!! MH is a bad manager but even he knows that a right back walking past the half way line is no good when the oppoistion have the ball in our box!! Other than Bosingwa I don think the players arent trying. Just not caring. From what Iâve seen there is no team spirit and with a few obvious exceptions (Adel, Mackie, Hill, and probably Anton) there is no affection for the club. While I accept that as professional footballers they will make a certain amount of effort they are all well short of the level of performance that they can actually achieve. Hughes arrogance and football snobbery based on his background of playing at the biggest clubs with the most talented players whilst at United and Barcelona is for me the reason why the bulk of his signings have been football mercenaries signing for us for no reason other than money and that we will give them an extra ear or two than another club would even though they are the wrongside of 30. Bosingwa, Park and BZ are for me the best examples of this. It is largely for this reason that while we have a good team on paper they are not quite doing enough. Hughes football arrogance and snobbery has looked down on the likes of DJ Campbell and Luke Young when in fact it is players like them who genuinely try and in DJâs case support and care for this club that can make a team gel and put the effort in. It is no coincidence for me that Hughes best two signings in Diakite and Granero are both young and have plenty to still achieve Sadly Hughes transfer policy has limited what can be achieved and left us with a toxic amount of mercenaries who arenât that bothered if we go down
Good post, his detachment from his players and reality is near pathological. The interviews are becoming embarrassing, at least Steve Keen had some dignity.
No chance, I saw Taarabt chase back into the penalty area many times when there was a chance of getting a spare man. It was due to him getting knackered and not wanting to go through the pain barrier to get back. He did set up the goal though.
I was fuming at Bosingwa when he did that, total lack of effort and he literally gave up. Something certainly is not right between players and manager imo.
