Well, I took "Anyway it's interesting to note the unrest from our fans when as I rite tonight we sit 12th in the league." to be a premature dig at the BoBs. But I agree that there is a lot of over-reaction from both Bibs and BoBs at the moment. As I said, there's only been one point between league places up to 10th., so our position was never insurmountable - talk of relegation was just a bit over the top. But equally, I don't think a very temporary 12th after a long-overdue win is anything to write home about either. I'm very pleased about it, but it is one game. I just got the impression you were having a dig and thought it premature, that's all.

Me too mate. I think he's an awesome player providing there has been no negative effect with the terrible injuries

I seem to remember thrashing Chelsea 3-0 at the Bridge last season.

That team was never played again so don't be surprised if we go back to 4-6-0 next week.

The reason I'm giving Wickham the MotM award is more for the lads 1st game today when there those who said he wasnt ready. Well, he looked bloody ready to me and he was up against a supposed £20m centre half in Cahill today and a thug like Robinson and he never looked out of his depth technically, mentally or physically and for an 18 year old lad chucked into a do or die game I thought he was magnificent.

Sess had the best game for us this season and maybe even for a few months in a position that allowed him to use his wizardry and skills and not be saddled with the strikers role and low and behold he scores.

Wake up Bruce and smell the coffee. Don't change the team next week and unleash Wickham and Bendtner against the slow cumbersome defence of Dunne. He will murder them.

I agree my language concerning Bruce and our position is somewhat out of kilter with many of you but a win at Bolton, whilst welcome, doesnt suddenly right all the wrongs of the past 9 months. Follow it up with a win next week and maybe a battling point or narrow defeat at Old Trafford and I'll change that 'colourful' language and I will water down my feelings a little.

    Just a little mind. Lol

The above is the funniest thing I have read all day, I really hope it was in jest or the black n whites are right and we really do have some delluded fans.

    as for this:
Its a complete disgrace. Steve Bruce has made mistakes he is only human, he has had a lot of things go against him that were out of his control. I get frustrated with him but some of the insults on this thread are what I would expect from a 12 year old in the play ground. I get frustrated about our performances at times, but I support my club and after a 10th place finish last season and a win today I think Steve Bruce deserves at least a little respect.

What's to wait for, Barry? He's been failing for the last nine months, hasn't he? I'm not waiting for anything. It's done.

**** me if you honestly think that was said in earnest then your a bigger plank than Bruce.

Talking of 12 year olds, I have a 12 year old nephew and he could see what was wrong with us 6 weeks ago. Today Bruce put it right but it was in desperation not through tactical genius. He deserves the insults totally for delivering a load of ****e all year and if you think a win at struggling Bolton is suddenly earning him the title of the new Bill Shankly, then you're very much mistaken. He is as likely to start with 1 up front again next week, as he is to admit he really has been a chump all season and keep the 2 strikers so dont hold your breath too long banking on him leaving the **** alone a team that can actually win a game. Bardsley in for a weak link Richardson at left back is the only change worth considering imo but I bet Bruce has other ideas and conjures up a treat for us next Saturday.

My fear is that instead of building on this small confidence booster and playing an attacking formation against Villa, he will ****e himself again not wanting to lose to Darren Bent and play 5 in midfield, citing the fact Sessegnon has now scored as his defence. Sess enjoyed the freedom of not being the striker today and had his best game by far. Wickham revelled in his first start and was a handful of trouble for Bolton's defence all afternoon.

Post it note to Bruce - please dont **** this up now and leave well alone for Saturday.

First off show me in my where in my post I have backed Bruce??

Right then Cest on to your comments: I will not insult you as that's not my style. I don't disagree about Bruce's mistakes, but you don't see the team in training week in week out. I did not say I thought Bruce was doing a great job or that he should still be the Sunderland Manager.

What I said was he deserved a little respect, especially on a day when we won. You keep calling him names if that's how you get your kicks. I will support my club.

Rather than call him an idiot etc, I would say that he has experimented with a system which maybe works for the likes of Barcelona, but has now hopefully realised that it doesn't work for us.....
I'm a firm believer that confidence is half the battle, and a couple of victories and a fully supportive crowd could make a lot of difference.[/QUOTE]

The crowd at the matches has been nothing less than fantastic RAW, despite the dross served up at times this calendar year, they have stuck with the team and the manager. Thats why I found the slagging off Bruce delivered the other day very, very hard to stomach and is a major factor in my huge dislike of the man now. I now call him fathead and idiot because thats how I feel about him and the problem he has now, is that less and less are actually bothering to turn up to games these days and we are in serious danger imo of a sub 30,000 crowd if things dont improve.

Maybe today is a turning point but its also an admission that he has ****ed up the start of this season and brought much of the vitriolic criticism upon his own head. Playing 2 up front, we were told by him only 2 weeks ago, is the modern way and one he was sticking to? 2 weeks later and a 4th bottom of the league and suddenly he wants to be congratulated for doing the right thing?

Not form this fan mate. He has a massive mountain to climb to get me back on side, then a 25 mile swim through shark infested waters and then a 10 day trek barefoot across a waterless desert. Oh yes and I need to see him actually perform in a derby game, not 'throw' another one to his boyhood club as he has done the last 3.

When he has done that, I'll give him some respect but until that time, I'm afraid I have nothing but utter contempt for him and a single win at a hapless Bolton side today hasn't even got him up the first incline of the mountain.

And at what point did I ever say I didn't support my club. You see, this is always the argument of the blinkers on brigade. If you don't support the manager your not a proper supporter.

Well pal for your information I do support Sunderland AFC but not the tattie in charge of the team. I wont insult you either but I really feel like it after that lame dig chum.

When did I say you did not support the club??? I know your a passionate supporter, I think I have said that enough times in other posts.

My point is read the title of your post and think about what most other adults would think about it?? I can't think what your thought about Wilkinson, McCarthy, Keane, or some of the disasters even further back.

Anyway I have work to do so can't debate this any further. I don't question your loyalty to SAFC I just think you need to take a deep breath sometimes and think about who we are and where we have come from.

    Okay Vegas point taken.

Its late and I'm a tetchy old ****er at times. The bairn has been up twice with a bad stomach and whilst she zonked now I'm left wide awake and scribbling my ****e on here trying to get tired again. Lol

Lets agree that if Bruce gets me excited again at some distant point, then SAFC will be in a fantastic place for him to have done so. Lets hope for 15 or 16 points in the next 10 games up to the new year and we can recover this seaosn yet.

25 points by Jan 1st will be a good benchmark as the the seaosn we may well still have.

Fair play to you Cest. I know we disagree but its only because we both love our club.

I hope the bairn is ok. You would not believe what I am doing while posting this if if I told you so good night and god bless.
