It was probably SB3 he has been keeping his head down lately and only popping up far the occasional bit of sniping.
You can be oh so very cruel Fran! My dear friend Beddytare can verify that I am in no way associated with that dispicable cad SB3 and your suggestion that I might be has left me deeply hurt. His posts are those of an ill educated snotty nosed 11 year old schoolchild while mine are those of a sophisticated well educated mature man of the world.
You may not like it rawc - but it's called "Capitalism" - almost every club is a Ltd Company and protection is there for just the shareholders/investors. Our forefathers must be turning in their graves to see just what has happened to our clubs after they allowed "businesses" to come in and invest funds into the clubs. Pompey fans would like to see a thorough police/fraud squad investigation into the previous owners of PFC - followed by long long long prison sentences for certain recent "owners" and punishment of a former CEO. Humiliating probably isn't too strong a word for how a great number of us feel about how our club has been run. And if you think that any of us are happy about the wages situation.............. your opinion is way out of date, at least a year out of date. Even the FL agreed weekly average is not acceptable to almost everyone.
On the football end there is no problem. The football creditors rule ensures that clubs do not sign good players and get the benefit without paying up. Period. Look at L*t*n for an example of what happens if a club is deemed to have gained a footballing advantage through financial misdemeanours. It is the job of political parties to protect the interests of stakeholders such as HMRC, small businesses and charities, but none of the major parties have stepped up to the plate. Why? Because the political price would be too high to pay. Portsmouth is a political battleground, so the club is safe as houses. By contrast, the Lib Dems and the Tories have absolutely nothing to lose in Glasgow and very little to lose in Scotland as a whole. Surprise surprise, the taxman finally does something about Rangers.
I can and am Happy to verify godders is in no way associated with SB3. In fact I can take it a step further and say they are very un-associated...........The reason they are kept apart is the likely hood of world war three if we didn't.....
Yes, well St Godders doesn't suffer tools gladly, does he. (note to self; check spelling as posting on iPhone)
I don't care, just because they played out of their skins in their two big games, does not, I'm afraid old bean, make them a great club.
What does constitute a great club? We're not all lucky enough to have been synonymous with top division football (well you were up until recently, and no doubt will be again) or have an FA cup in the trophy cabinet. History and passion make a great club, the latter we manage despite not having anything to cheer about since a certain Hull player volleyed in a goal against us. I don't want to see Pompey go out of business as the 'club' isn't at fault. Portsmouth FC are the fans and in business terms - the brand. The people not getting enough of the blame are the FL, who vetted every single one of the club's poisonous owners and without aforethought approved the structure and spending practices that took place in between the two admin debacles. If Pompey have to drop a division or two to end up at a level where they don't have to spend above their means merely to get by, maybe it's for the best. A club with that passion and loyalty will rise again, with every future investor wiser for it.
So today's the day they legally should have been wound up. Yet they live to fight another day trying to scrape together more loan signings...
Dear Fran please accept my apologies I now see the reason for your comment. I had included the wrong post. You are right of course though for I do spend a great deal of time talking to myself. My reply reference SB3 was in response to your post above. With regards to another of your posts reference famous people I am sure you are every bit as beautiful as any other woman including someone very dear to my own heart. Others may not think the very lovely you know who is that beautiful but to me she will always be the one love of my life and the most beautiful woman in the world.
While clubs like Coventry, who have sold all their players and are relying on youngsters to survive... because they are honourable, will be relegated when a club like Pompey will stay up. Coventry will inevitably collapse if they go down, while Pompey pay 1p in the pound and survive with nothing but an FA cup for their fraud. what a fair society football is!
So Coventry are in the financial mire, we have got to be glad we didn't take the hedge fund company that were looking at us before taking Coventry. Remeber a few heated debates on 606 on wether we should have gone that way or not. For a while it did look like we had dipped out when we were playing our youth team under the Dutch duo and Coventry were buying half decent players.
