a) BillyS source saying the takeover is off?

b) Ristac source saying Bates has already gone?

c) Maybe neither of them?

d) Maybe both? Bates is dead but the takeover is stopped.

Dunno, but it's been our best close season for a while. Loving the speculation, but I don't know if me old ticker will cope with much more of this.

Not claiming to have any source, just mates sending me text messages saying he has gone, most use twitter I don't and wondering if I had missed something
 
I think someones just hooked onto the fact our signings coming in on july 1st and decided that must be because bates is officially going to be gone on that date. in reality its common practice to sign players after their contracts have expired on june 30th
 
Someone <cough>TC<cough> has been on, Billionaire Bernard Arnault's Wiki page and put on there, that he is the new owner of Leeds United, but its been taken off now. because its bullshit.
 
Bates is trying to sell a minority share for some much needed cash. He has wasted money on **** like Yorks Radio, Pavilion etc. That's it, no takeover unfortunately, but if he does sell some of Leeds its a step in the right direction.

Mate I'm sorry but everyone, including LUST, TSB etc. are now stating as fact it is 100% a takeover, so unless you're the one person in the world with the correct information what you're hearing has been twisted somewhere along the line.
 
If it was a takeover, what would we be looking at? Around £60m to buy Leeds? Maybe even a low £30m? People struggling to raise money to buy Rangers and Watford, what does that tell you? If there was someone with serious money trying to buy out Bates would they shut up about it? No, they would turn up the pressure on Bates and get public support aligned. If someone had £30m plus to invest I somehow don't think they'd take orders from Bates but rather they would be pushing the buttons and controlling the negotiations. As it stands, it is investment for a share, that's it. The only way it can become a takeover bid is if the investors get additional partners in with extra cash to force Bates to walk. I would love a takeover as much as any Leeds fan, but for now its not happening.
