Hi SOS, thanks for the research <ok>

This is why the situation is such a mystery to me, ostensibly he's been fit for weeks, yet hasn't been selected. I simply don't get it, now even Twitter has gone silent, our one hope of communication with players in these techno-times :)

I say again, has anyone here seen Pienaar, I E double A R. He's even more elusive than the Kelly of the music hall song.

I shall keep an eye out for that SP twitter page, in the hope of finding out more.

No worries pal, despite the fact I don't rate him, I'd rather have him ready for selection if needed than being in the physio room!

Perhaps we should all take a journey down to Chigwell and demand an answer to this mystery! Would also like to know how long Hudd's out for too, his passing skills could have been used at times this season.

  4. That would be because the Olympic Stadium would- due to the impending arrival of Wet Spam- now be synonymous with 'silence'. As Ghoddle quite correctly stated: "OS silence on injured players is fairly common".

A similar usage of this now widespread phrase would be: "I tried to talk to her, but her response was just Olympic Stadium."
"The man on the soap-box tried to shout out,but he was Olympic Stadiumed."
"The teacher raised her hands, barking 'I demand more Olympic Stadiumness in my classroom!'"

    And so on...

We were linked to Pienaar for a while before he signed - there's stories from last summer, for example, and there was talk of gazumping any deal Everton offered at the end of his loan when ramos was at the helm, so make of that what you will.

His performances against Man Utd and QPR this season have both validated my point perfectly - Essien didn't play, Terry got found out, Chelsea lost, toys vacated the pram at a remarkably high velocity.

I find your points about John Terry in this thread, irrelevant and invalid <ok>

    RE: QPR Game

Spurs coach Clive Allen told London24: "Steven Pienaar and William Gallas are back in training, which is good, so we'll hopefully have one or two more to select from on Sunday.

"I don't know if William will play but he could well be involved, he may make the bench. It just depends on the reaction to his training this week."

They'll be remarkably relevant and valid should Chelsea play a midfield of Mata, Lampard and Mikel at WHL in December. But you'll doubtless forget to mention that when he's left on his racist, adulterous backside and the jibes of "Three Point Lane" look ever more hopeful...

I wasn't aiming at Schteff or anyone, just generalising, but I admit its not clear. What i meant was apart from one game, I've been disappointed with his contribution in his other apps.

You'll never see up to date injury info on our site or any other, its not good to give teams due to play you a public headsup.

You say he's proven Prem, and I agree he was, but our squad has evolved even since his signing, and the players in are imo better than him, so he'll naturally fall down a pecking order he was never top of anyway. So with everything I've said, his age, his hi energy style, I'm not so sure we'll see the SP we have in our heads, but I'd like nothing more than to be wrong! <ok>

Well the club must have read my post, just a day after starting this thread the mysterious Mr P reappears again. I think I shall take some of the credit for that <laugh>

So happy to see him and Gallas back, the squad needs 'thickening' and I hope this is not a false dawn for either of them. Would like to see Pienaar starting v Rubin, and Gallas starting v Fulham. Probably not wise to send him to Rusia. If Sandro is available for Sunday, and Corluka for Russia, then things might, just might, be on the mend injury-wise.

  12. <laugh> Ha! Can you imagine that? He'd be like the kid that always gets left behind in the museum toilets on a school trip. I can just imagine a training session at the Lodge now:

Captain A (Daws): You can take Pienaar, we had him last time!

Captain B (Luka): Nah! No way mate- we already picked him three weeks running so you can bloody well shut up!

Captain A: Cheats! Harry, B-team are a bunch of cheating willies!

Uncle 'arry: 'ello 'ello lads, what's goin' on 'ere?

Captain B: We've both got evenly-numbered sides, and we're NOT having Pienaar AGAIN <folds-arms-in-a-strop-smiley>

    Captain A: <gives-v-sign-and-shoves-smiley>

Uncle 'arry: Alright, bunch of muppets. I said ALRIGHT! SHUT IT- THE LOT OF YAH! Stevie...

    Steve Pienaar: <fiddles-with-finger-nails-looking-sheepishly-at-the-floor-smiley> Yes, boss?

Uncle 'arry: You can 'help' me be the referee, ok?

SP: Only if Benny promises not to steal my lunchbox again....

Uncle 'arry: Fine. You can take the bleedin' box on the pitch with you, just don't go droppin' it in front of Ade when he's about to shoot, alright?

    SP: Cheers boss <looking-considerably-more-perky-smiley>

    And Cut.

And now, as if by techno magic, his twitter account comes alive again too <ok>

'Great to be back in full training. Feeling good just wanna play'

This is a real boost for us and him, would help us considerably to have a fit Pienaar playing v Rubin.

He's definitely reading this thread then G10!

Wonder if he'll tweet something like "Spurs or Sex? is a complete idiot and I'm out to prove him wrong!" - As long as I get my five minutes of fame I'd still be happy :D

Or its possible the club was thinking - they don't talk about SP much on Not606- lets pretend he's still injured and say nothing and see if anyone notices he's back in training, oh and tell him not to tweet until then.<whistle>

If that's the case they really need to read this and hire me as a scout!

Over the past 5/6 years I've called on a few names to make it big, 90% of them are playing/ have played international football for their respected countries - Nani, Marcelo (Real Madrid) and Ozil to name a few. And no, I didn't find them from footy manager, used to watch a lot of European/ South American football a while back. Also remember seeing Adam Johnson in his really early days at Middlesbrough and thought he had potential to be a decent player.

One to watch for the future - Lorenzo Ebecilio - Plays for Ajax! Tricky winger and can play on the left or right equally. Actually think his stats on footy manager are quite sh*t so I definitely can't be told "he was rated as a wonderkid blah blah blah"

Come on Spurs, sign me up!!! :D

SOS, after your 'blunt' comments about Mr Pienaar, I don't think you'd be too welcome at THFC <laugh>

    Goodmorning ,
I think if Chavski really wanted him, they would have signed him.
We have better young players with far more promise than him.
