Cause Harold keeps shooting his mouth off. If he just shut it and did his job, talked only with the team and TF, we would not be in the news.
Just out of interest, if this had been Briatore telling Di Canio he couldn't sign a player he wanted, how would we have all reacted? I reckon that I would be looking at it differently....
But that's the whole point Roller, Briatore probably did as do 99.9% of boards have discussions with their Football Management. It is perfectly normal for Operations of any Business to require approval from the Financial wing before even going to the board for funds. I'm not quite sure how some are even keen on Bridge - He is totally in keeping with the past mistakes we have made- Yes he has had 1 OK season with Brighton most probably in the knowledge that his contract is now up and he'd need to at least try in order to find some mugs to pay him for another 2 seasons. Bridge on 20 K a week would be a mistake on any more it would be TF doing the same thing over and again! Now perhaps the question you should have asked was: How long would Redknapp have lasted if Briatore was still around - And would he have still been mouthing off!! - No - Don't think so - And why is it he doesn't mouth off at Levy - Because he'd put Redknapp right in his place. Tony - You seem as though you want to do the right thing - Well as always stated get off Twatter and sack this Dinosaur for gross misconduct.
It is signing aged players on free transfers that got us into this mess in the first place. Harry should be spending his energy on getting rid of the free loaders before worrying about bringing players in.
Well I was one of the people supporting Harry, not because I think he is great but because I really don't like this sacking cycle we have got caught up in but to be honest I getting pretty fed up with him now. Does he not realise he is losing\lost the fans and is becoming very destructive to the squad unity! I'll be pulling out me Fickle Fan Joker card soon.
Good post. The problem is Harry was once just a manager. Then he became a TV commentator. Then he took the QPR job and he's trying to be a manager and a commentator. He talks to the QPR board as a manager, and then commentates on the situation to the press, trying to be objective. Harry, that's two-faced! Choose one role or the other. You can't combine the two.
That is not the point I was trying to make. We were all up in arms about Briatore interfering with transfers and team selection, whereas we are now complaining about Redknapp moaning about "them" not giving him carte blanche in team matters. Surely this is double standards on our part? What would we all talk about if the club actually did this behind closed doors as they ought to?
Harry is past it, just like Hodgeson is with England he should just pack it in he's a bloody dinosaur. Had more than enough games to get us out of the ****e last season, we need a bright young manager to take us forward, it might take a while but that is better than paying to watch some over priced geriatrics coming to us just to top up there pensions.
harry wont go anywhere yet. he wont get paid off, and there are no good jobs out there, where else will he get 3m a year, that's a top 6 prem wages, and unless other clubs buy your high earners the boards hands are tied, might have to rip up a few contracts to get rid of some, but need to do it sooner rather than later, otherwise could derail the start of the season, bring back ian holloway
Forget about Briatore’s previous action this is not a like for like comparison as the situation is so different. All we can do is look at this case in isolation and decide whether Redknapp is acting appropriately or treating the board or the club with the respect it deserves. The answer to both of these is an emphatic no. As Redknapp said when he first joined we need to start living in the real world. While Bridge may not need a transfer fee he will still need a big chunk of wages. As I said in a previous post a 70% pay cut puts him on £1.4m a year. We need to get our house in order and Harry needs to put the club first and not is reputation or public persona. We cant afford to commit to wages like that while we still have the likes of Bosingwa, Granero and Barton on the wage bill. While some fans may not be intelligent to realise that our club is in a perilous financial state Harry should have no excuse. But he doesn’t care about QPR same as much as he cares about himself. With the financial kick in the nuts that relegation is for our club we need to get our house in order first and clear out as much as we can. This may mean that we miss out on the odd signing like Bridge but considering our position this is not the priority. If a manager on three million a year who come first September will still have an embarrassment of talent cant harness that to gain promotion then he should resign now. Committing yet more millions to another signing like Bridge will only make things harder when we negotiate a fee for Cesar or try to clear out Bosingwa without having to give him a pay off or part pay his wages. We need to look at the bigger picture and that really is the long term survival of this club. Harry has shown with Pompey he doesn’t concern himself with that.
Thanks for that link, whilst I think he may be right in what he says the way he is blackmailing the board makes him a first class to**er in my mind. that is an insulkt to TF and the board. I understand managers have to fight their own corner; but I think that went a bit too far See ya Harry...thanks for F-all
Totally different scenario Roller, if TF was bringing in moody, second rate Italian players without the managers consent ala Briatore/Paladini then fair enough but he's not. Harry's trying to play a ****ty/childish game where if he doesn't get what he wants he'll slag us (TF) off to everyone in the play ground as he thinks he's top dog. Harry, your not even close to top dog. Every club you've been given free reign at you've left in turmoil!! Either fall in to line and do your job or **** off!
Having watched the video I'd say it's only a matter of time before he leaves. Really seems a strange thing to be so open about if he wasn't already trying to justify his imminent departure. Could be wrong, though! Overall, I wouldn't mind a fresh start. Think we're gonna be out of the PL for a while again (at least 2-3 seasons), so why not bring in someone who will happily work within that timeframe rather than a manager who clearly doesn't think he belongs in the second tier.
Every manager is told he cant sign someone for financial reasons and you can see why, just look at Hughes reign.
