Put yourself in TF's shoes. The last man he trusted with the signing of players and control of the club was Mark Hughes. I won't elaborate. So forgive him for being a bit reluctant to let you have a free reign Mr Redknapp. I'm sick of this 'everyone but me' approach. Its very clear he's still got a chip on his shoulder from the Spurs sacking but even then their fans had sussed that tactically he was found wanting. Give someone else a chance to rebuild this side
I've not seen the interview but have heard about the content. I cant believe how much of a miserable b*stard Arry is. How can he motivate players if he acts like this. He's probably right about the footballing decisions being his, but the owner has been burnt big time by the previous managers ineptitude and he has oo make sure that he is convinced by what the manager wants. We've tried an open chequebook and it got us relegated. I'm really beggining to think that Arry should bugger off sooner rather than later, and we get in a younger more dynamic and positive manager. Even if it means it takes us longer to get back up. If he cany be positive then he should pi** pff.
I am so tired of us being a bloody soap opera. I wash Harry would start to act like a professional as opposed to an aged prima donna and show some respect for his long suffering employer and the fans. We do not need, nor deserve, his interviews which serve merely to destabilise what is already an unhappy position. For my part, Harry has not impressed me at all. He is paid a fortune, has a bunch of talented, if lazy and un-motivated players, but has failed miserably to make the best of what he has. The more he publicly opens his mouth, the more I wish he would just sod off.
What a bloody mess this all is. Pick a backbone of experienced players that are already at the club, get rid of cisse et al and being in youngters who can grow with the club. No season tickets purchased, lost interest for now.
The whole thing is just a rouse to give himself the excuse to leave. He's demanding absolute carte blanch to spend their money however he wants, without allowing them any input whatsoever. He knows that they can't do that, especially after what happened with Hughes, and if they did do so it would be completely irresponsible of them. It is completely reasonable for the board to want to have some sort of general transfer philosophy which they expect the manager to work within. That's exactly what we've lacked in the last four transfer windows, and why we are in the mess we're in now. The club need to reject this crude attempt at a very public blackmail, and tell him to clear out as soon as possible IMHO.
Exactly, its an exit strategy so he can move while the media will place all the blame on TF. there isn't a team in the league where the signings aren't approved by the board. as you say, we all saw what happened with Hughes and we should allow it with a manager known to have a fondness of brown paper bags.
Mmmm. I've been a supporter of Harry but his constant moaning and ill-concealed threats are beginning to grate. Don't you just hate it when he talks about QPR as, for example, "them" and "there", rather than "us" and "here"? If he had any self-awareness, he would realise that he as hardly covered himself in glory: he has failed to instil any discipline in the squad, or in the team, and he's had a bunch of over-paid, under-performing players who he has totally failed to motivate. For Christ's sake, Harry, put up and shut up.
not sure why Liverpool have a thread on this http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/214843-Harry-wants-to-cut-and-run
Indeed a mess, although looked like an impromptu interview on a golf course. Who was the interviewer though? sounded like some cockney bloke who just wandered over to ask arry a few questions and just happened to film it..
So this is QPR going about our bussiness in a quiet professional manner is it?!! F**K me - we really are becoming a joke of a club ! Thank god for the lions tour this weekend!
TBH nines, I was willing to give him time to do his job. I think he was on to a loser when he joined and even jesus couldnt have saved us. I do think he got us playing some of the best football all season but whether that was "new manager sydrome or coincidence, I'm just not sure. We know (some of)the players were crap, whats the point in HR keeping on reminding anyone & everyone about it?! If he was going about his bussines profesionally and efficiently I would be happy to give him until end of next season; but to me it looks like he's getting ready to jump. Far too many excuses about players, Baiting & threatening the board to leave, always ferering to QPR as they, them etc. I also dont think he'll be here more than the end of next season, so whether or not he's the right person doesnt matter, my question is whats the point? An new manager will come in and start over and want his own players. just seems a very short term solution to me at a time when we are crying out for stability. Might even have a club and a TEAM (not group of players) to be proud of. We arent ever going to win much but I just wanna be proud to say I support QPR without getting s**t about it for once ! You really couldn't make up the stuff thats happened over the past 2 seasons. !! Embarrasing! Personally, Id go get Sjolskar, Martinez, Poyet, Zola etc and give them 5 years to build the club from the ground up including rebuilding with younger players. It may take longer to reach the "promised land" but at least we'd have half a chance of staying there when we arrived.!
I'm now starting to think that any reservations TF had about Harry are starting to come to the fore and he will be even more reluctant to let Harry spend for the simple fact that Harry keeps shooting off that he may exit, well ................... after Hughes splashing the cash and now Harry, where are we .............. relegated with a manger who is threatening leave after spending big last time round.. Better off leaving Harry cause we the fans who supported you from day one, are fed up with your childish antics and our owner of the club, TF, like us doesn't want to be left holding the baby once again. With managers like you, we are raising a family of bas-tards.
Why is it always us in spotlight, **** me we dropped down to championship & thought we would be low profile, not a chance still problems out our club but would be nice if harry said sometimes that "we" need to sort something or my club but all we get is they or there club need to sort things out, he doesn't seem attached to us unlike warnock & some of the others.
Harold Simply lost now he is clearly putting HR first above the club. He is a failure and would be wise to retire. The club need to be strong here now He has been unacceptable to me since his appointment and in time all on this board will see how focussed Hughes was in doing his job ... OK it went wrong but most know that I believe he would of sorted it Harold has done very little apart from blow the club wide open He is the worse professional out there at the moment a complete dinosaur
