Redknapp is our most successful premier league manager and the only manager to get us champions league football, and is the sole reason expectations were increased.

Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal all have vastly higher budgets or in the goons case a higher wage bill.

So for us to get where we did under Redknapp with a wage cap and a limited budget compared to our rivals was a great achievement.

Also to say "5th is a failure" (to the deluded spurs fans)! look up the records books and find out when we last finished in the top four before redknapp arrived, then look at all the managers inbetween venables & redknapp and you realise what a great job Arry done for the club.

Spurs spend just as much on player wages as the big clubs! youve got adebayor who was on 150k at city and doubt he took to much of a pay cut!

Hmm yes! I don't recall the previous Redknapp affair to well, as i was relatively young and started getting in to following football around 2006. But since then, I have never been to impressed with him. He gets results sure, which is I guess what we need at the moment. But he spends some ludacris amounts on players only to never play them.. Add to that his record with young players or lack of it, I'm fairly certain he wanted to ditch Bale at one point, in the run of 20 odd games without a win? And the fact he went to court shows he was doing something dodgy in the first place.

I dislike him, but don't hate him, but at the end of the day I think he could be what we need on a short term deal, certainly not long run but just so we can get in some defenders, maybe his link with spurs to get Dawson, and then replace him with a long term manager.

Also read that he is unwilling to commute too far from his home in Sandbanks. Now depending on how far too far is, I'd assume that leaves only us and Bourney, and they've just appointed Howe again...

That being said, I'd rather we kept Adkins!

Cannot believe we have a 10 page thread on F**king Redknapp becoming our manager. FFS guys get a grip, never ever going to happen. And for those of you on here who even contemplate this as an option, I doubt your credentials as Saints fans who have regularly attended games through thick and thin.

I hate it when people like you feel they are more superior due to a different opinion, not saying i really want him (arry), but dont act like you're some messiah because you would never discuss Adkins sacking

I'm not acting like some messiah and if I have a different opinion, that's my perogative. I won't discuss Atkins sacking because the last time I looked he was still manager of SFC

To be fair most of the pages are about Adkins or Redknapp in general, not many people seem to actually believe he will become our manager.

I would rather see Nigel given to end of season, if we go down we go down, we'll have a good squad for returning and can sort out our defence ready for 2 seasons times.

I still don't like Redknapp, I agree he's good manager but wouldn't wanna see him return, he would only end up leaving us anyway!

I can't see who we're going to buy in January who is going to shore up our defence enough to stop us going down but I'm hopeful NA and NC have someone lined up.

I agree with you in that we all have different opinions. If you are classing me superior for not discussing Redknapp becoming our manager while Atkins is still our manager, that's your opinion. My opinion, maybe not yours, one is an ex manager the other is our current manager!! The former I wouldn't waste my breath discussing, the current has my total respect.

Just like he kept us up last time. He is a f*cking joke. If we were ambitious we would be appointing someone with proven European success and someone with a future. Redknapp is well past it (if he ever had it). Lowe and Redknapp was highly unlikely. Cortese and Redknapp - never in a milion years.

This is the the crazy and often ****ty world of modern day football so any one would be mad to assume anything can or cannot happen.

So what's your view on his policy of loaning out and then selling promising young players without giving them a chance?

    Check your facts.

We have a strict wage cap and certainty don't spend as much on wages as man city or man utd, also the reason Adebayor was late signing for us this season, was because he had to accept our wage cap and managed to strike a deal with man city to get him off their books.

Proven European success? Can't help but think you are being a little optimistic.
