I have a very high opinion of Redknapp as a manager, though I grant he gets the tactics wrong at times. What he does brilliantly well is to create a positive atmosphere where players play at their best. People, especially fans, tend to forget that football is a game, and that to play a game well, you need to be relaxed and having fun. Redknapp seems to infuse a positive, loose feeling into his team, and has a long history of getting them to overachieve. There is a downside, which is that he isn't always willing, or perhaps able, to play tightly and negatively to get a result when it might be wisest. But he understands that it's three points for a win, and one for a draw. Give him a wage cap like the giants have, and I'd bet on him to win the league. He won the FA Cup with Pompey, for god's sake.
Swampy appears to be a very confused young man. I think he should go back to being an eco-warrior, and to burying himself under bye-passes to protect newts.
When you fling so much **** at the wall some of it's bound to stick. You were still, for the most part, wrong
A poorly disguised Wum attempt. Although I disagree, I could almost accept that is his point of view. Until, he just couldn't resist getting the little Wum in at the end about Bale & Modric. Many of us have been saying it for some time, Harry is a great motivator, and man manager. I doubt there are many better. However, his tactical thinking seems naive at best, especially recently - some very bizarre decisions.
So you're actually praising arry for getting us into the champions league, with a weaker squad then our current one.
