Yet probably still dwarfed by Loic Remy's wages over his contract. People have got to start remembering that a transfer fee is only an initial cost.

Our wage structure is such that we can afford that initial transfer fee and in turn IF we were to get relegated our players are much more saleable as their wages are more affordable to other teams.

I have no burn with QPR. Get on with them however we don't hate Redknapp for walking out of our club. We hate him for joining. We hated him as manager. We hate him as a person. If QPR survive Redknapp will self proclaim his brilliance. If they go down he will blame everyone else. His only success??? Getting a side which was 5th in the Premier league the season before out of the relegation zone (Spurs) then buying 150 players of which a handful turned out to be good.

And even though he had managed Bale at Southampton leaving him on the bench until he was force to use him. And then when he was forced to use him saying 'We always knew what we had there'.

The guy is clueless and a joke yet the media loves him.

Good luck QPR, nothing against you, just the manager.

90% of your players will leave next season,

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

If the clubs very lucky, but I don't think there will be a lot of clubs offering Samba & Co all that easy money.

But IF we go 3 or 4 up on them, it may be a cracking idea ;-)

No, we'll be saving that for Pochettino. His birthday too, remember.

    Happy Birthday to you
    Happy Birthday to you
    Happy Birthday Pochettino
    Happy Birthday to you

That would be a kick up the arse for 'Arry, when he realises Mauricio's birthday is the same day. He'd be just about to wave at the crowd and then have to stop himself. Not to be missed..! :)

Just popped onto the QPR board .

Wish I hadn't . Why are they so anti ?

I want us to beat QPR as they are a relegation rival .

I want us to beat QPR. As harry is their manager and I cannot abide him .

I don't have anything against QPR as a club , certainly nothing against their fans , I just hope we get 3 points off them this weekend .

Oh and their owner is great as well as he is into F1.

It's worth adding to this bit I think. It's only an initial cost if you pay the transfer fee up front in full. This is very rarely done so to say that we have spent £Xm on players is also inaccurate but is of course the accepted tabloid way of presenting things these days. We certainly didn't pay £12m up front for Ramirez and I seriously doubt that we paid for JRod in one hit either.

To put an end (yeah right) to the financial comparisons being drawn between clubs on this thread, what do we know? Well Pompey had wealthy owners and look where that got them. Because of our ludicrous Limited Company trading rules, wealthy owners can walk away without being hit in their own back pocket. We have wealthy benefactors who have converted their investment to equity, placing the club in rude financial health. QPR, wealthy owners or not, are part of QPR holdings Ltd:

Qpr Holdings Limited is an Active business incorporated in England & Wales on 13th May 1996. Their business activity is recorded as Activities Of Sport Clubs. Qpr Holdings Limited is run by 4 current members. and 1 company secretary. It has no share capital. It is also part of a group. The latest Annual Accounts submitted to Companies House for the year up to 31/05/2011 reported 'cash at bank' of £673,000, 'liabilities' worth £46,022,000, 'net worth' of £-47,858,000 and 'assets' worth £3,018,000. Qpr Holdings Limited's risk score was amended on 30/01/2013. - See more at: http://companycheck.co.uk/company/03197756#sthash.oKqJupEy.dpuf

So, QPR fans stating that their owners are in it for the long haul may of course be quite right. If however, they are not, relegation will pretty much bankrupt the club overnight.

And despite what they're clinging to, I, along with 99.9% of Saints fans hope that this doesn't happen to them. Let that be an end to it.

In fact, just to make it simple for the likes of Ellers -

    1 - We don't hate QPR
2 - We would like to finish above QPR in the league this season
3 - We don't like Redknapp because of his history with our club, his history with our bitter rivals and the fact he's of dubious character. That has nothing to do with QPR
4 - We don't want QPR to go bankrupt

Is that okay? Are we finished with this now?

No. It's been too long since we've had a good WUMwar with another club. Arguing with the Skates at the moment is like drowning baby ducks.

No, we have the same currency as you. Southampton might be closer to France, but we're not in the Eurozone yet.

Boring git! it's all 'if' 'if' 'if'.
IF any owner leaves a club it would cause problems. The fact is They have not so all your 'if's' are 'if's'.

If your owners left, you would be in the s###e. The saving grace we have is that we are a London club and before TF took over we had 3 interested parties (all with money). If TF left i am sure another person would want in. The Mittals have kept their stake in when they could have pulled out?

Seriously what you need to do is worry about your own club and not our board or what they spend because unlike Leeds/Pompey/Cov our backers are 'stinking rich' and have said they are in for the long term.
    Move on <ok>

Jesus Ellers, he wasn't attacking your club, he just knows a lot about the other side of Football, he's an informative poster. You should take a break from Footy/Qpr mate before it gives you a heart-attack. <ok>

Supporting Saints has always been interesting...we tried our hardest to blow it last season after looking as if we would win by April...I fancy being safe with a couple of games to go. Boring has its attractions.

Can I just say that plenty of posters on this forum have asked to move on from this slight dispute.

I would also point out that ALL clubs would be in the proverbial IF their owners just upped and left. I think this may a point to close the thread, because we're retreading the same old ground.
