I can see QPR turning into the next Pompey. There's definate striking similarites between the 2 clubs.

Buying vastly over priced players and then paying them ludicrous salaries
Similar numbers through the turnstile as pompey used to get
Harry Redknap being in charge!! Very ominous similarity there
& a dodgy foreign owner who goings to leave when he gets bored / fed up with it

The key difference is Pompey had some success before the bailiffs caught up with them.

Anyway lets let the teams do the talking.
I see from the posts/threads that most of you lot are sad and bitter about Arry but he wanted a bigger club and went (get over it). Things change in football. You need to stop living in the shadow of Pompey. Even when they are down and nearly bust you go on about them. For me that says it all.

Ellers mate.....If you go up and down the country and look at the prices they charge for various matches......The price bracket we are in is in the lower tier that is true......but guess who is just below us on the listings........well done you are right.... QPR.
Down here the only London clubs that play higher prices are Arsenal and Spurs. Your lot are in our lower catagory too....so no brainer..........

The huge difference between our outgoings and yours; is ours (although still less than yours allegedly) have been large one off payments which are transfer fees for players who are not on huge wages, so therefore if we go down, which we won't, we will still be on a sounds financial footing. In comparison you have signed ageing players with no sell on value, on astronomical wages, leaving your financial future looking dubious at best. For example, if we go down we will either sell 1 or 2 players for more than what we paid for them anywya, because everyone we buy has huge sell on potential and rebuild, whereas if you guys go down, TF pulls out and Bosingwa, Cesar, Taarabt, Remy, Hoillett or Samba decide they fancy seeing out the rest of their contracts on 65k a week plus, you are well and truly ****ed.

There are, of course no bigger teams in London for QPR to be in the shadow of.

That's a low blow; they should have a shot to be a top eight club in London, so long as Brentford fail to get promoted.

*Scratches head* - no, you're just telling me what we've spent on two players. Please again tell me about the financial status of our club, as clearly you know SO much more than me. After all, I'm just a creation of Jim Henson.....

As far as I am concerned he is the Manager of another football club, that wants to beat us in our quest for survival, of course we have a few bad memories of the guy because he was there when we went down. That was long enough ago for me to have drawn a line under it and I have moved on. We have benefitted from what happened so it wasn't all bad. If you slag him off and his team wins it is only going make things worse for you and you end up with egg on your face. I expect us to win on Saturday and that will be good enough for me.

Yeah, we owned our ground too in the timeframe that's being mentioned. It was only when that parasite Chainrai got involved that we lost control of Fratton Park.

Personally I have nothing against QPR and personally, I find it a shame that Harry Redknapp is your manager as I'd like to support you (not literally, just as in, hoping you do well). But I can't support any team managed by that self-serving hypocritical dick who is a **** man-manager unless you happen to be in his clique. Though I guess a large proportion of my dislike for him is due to the way the media worship him.

I must say, I do feel uneasy about the possibility of QPR doing an us. As someone said earlier in this thread, there are quite a few similarities....

As "the other guy" no, I said you know nothing about our financial situation as you were claiming we'd be in financial trouble should we go down. I stand by the claim you know nothing from that statement. All you've done to prove your knowledge is tell me how much we've spent on players. That's lovely. But also has nothing to do with our financial status. Which is the part that you know nothing about.....

You sound just like the blue few down the road did. You just don't get it do you? Rodriguez and Ramirez are both young players who can be sold if we go down, and they are not on extortionate wages. You get problems when you have older players on crazy wages that are going to be happy to see out the remainder of their contracts, no matter what division they are in. "Are you Pompey with white stripes?"
