According to SSN. Good option to have? - At the right price, of course. He's out of contract at the end of the season, so The Chavs couldn't stop it - unless they make him an offer before then.

Anela? Never heard of him :p

Joking aside, Anelka's not a bad player by all means and his signing would only strengthen us but would he join knowing that he'll be in a similar position to what he is at Chelsea - a squad player?

I like Anelka, I think he's very clever in the way he plays and would be a good signing. Not sure if Jermain would stick around for too long if we did get him though.

Anelka and Ade 'could' be a recipe for dressing room disaster. If he's happy with a back seat as such, and won't cost a packet then fair enough, but I think he's too old to pin all our hopes on.

From what I've heard, he's going to some Chinese team for about £9m a year.
Apparently it's a good source, but time will tell, eh?

If Anelka has something about him still, he'd be a great 'loan/freebie' to help get us through to May, then see how it goes.

To be fair Harry wouldn't categorically rule out signing my mum.

Y'know - she's a good player, I wouldn't want to rule anything out. She's not someone we've been looking at much but you never know...

There's an impending geriatric sale at the Bridge for a very good reason...see PL table!

Agreed, but Anelka would come on a free, if Harry went for him. So, for me, if we can cut the right deal re wages, he's not a bad striking option to have. So long as he realises he'll be on the bench.

Although he hasn't been utilised much in the role at chelsea he can also play up front on his own.

His strike rate in his time at Chelsea is no better than Pav for us at just over 1 in 3 games, JD is 1 in 2.5 ...just a bit more food for thought. :)

Yeah but how many of those games did he play the full 90 mins? I guess you could say the same about Pav, though. The thing with Pav is that his work aside from scoring the odd wonder-strike is appalling. If someone would bring more to the team than Pav it'd be an improvement even if their strike rate was similar.

TBH, though I'll not be terribly excited by his arrival. He was wasted at Bolton and is clearly a very able Prem striker. But, well - I'd want younger/better. And his wages will be very high, surely. I've seen talk of him being offered loads in Russia or Qatar or somewhere and he'd fit the profile of the type of players wanted in those places. If that's the case then Spurs should not try to out-bid some nouveau-riche club in some desert somewhere.
