If we get old players in, they will have to be replaced when we go up. Wed be back to square one with yet another massive turnover of the squad. Also older players get a lot more injuries and cost a lot more in wages.

For every Neville or Wilkins type of old player, theres a dozen Zamora, Johnson or Owen type player.

It seems to me that Harry wants to go about things in exactly the same way as Hughes.....buy over-the hill players who won't give a stuff about us and will simply be looking for one last pay day. What a ****ing nightmare we have become!!
Incidentally..........if the majority of the fan base feel the same way about Harry as the majority on this board seem to, it will be highly interesting to see what kind of welcome he gets next season!!

A lot of water's going to pass under a lot of bridges before next season, Col. Harry will have plenty of chances to redeem himself in fans's eyes - or confirm their view that he's a pariah!

I find it terrifying that he is using the example of what he did at Portsmouth to justify his methods.

Me too. If that doesn't start the alarm bells ringing then what will?
The alarm bells should of been ringing very loudly when extraordinarily, we got worse under Harry than we did with Hughes. Where was his famous man-management skills then? The old '' It's not my team '' argument doesn't rub with me. Di Canio got more out of a poor Sunderland side when he was appointed, as did O'Neill before him. They had the squad that was passed onto them. Harry had a transfer window in which the players he bought broke club records, yet we got worse. I can't see a 'Harry's Hiatus' thread being posted before August.

I still stand by my post just before the end of the season, that we should of cleared the club out and started all over again. We're in a terrible bloody mess and I don't like it. Harry is not a Ranger and never will be.

Unfortunately it looks like hes staying, looks like damage control from the club:

Harry Redknapp is fully committed to the challenge of getting QPR back to the Premier League as soon as possible.

Speculation about Redknapp's future at Loftus Road has been rife since their relegation to the Championship, but he met with shareholder Ruben Emir Gnanalingam last week to thrash out a summer transfer plan.

"I know the kind of players we need and I'm working with Philip (Beard, chief executive) and the owners to get deals over the line," Redknapp told the club's official website.

"We're in constant dialogue. We're all on the same page and want to bring success to the club.

"I am committed to QPR. I want to do well for the club and I want to take it back where it belongs, in the Premier League.

"We're trying to bring the right types of lads into the squad - players who have the right mentality, ability and character to get us out of this division.

"I know the game and know what QPR need to get back into the Premier League. It will be a difficult task but a challenge I am excited about undertaking."

Gnanalingam added: "I met with Harry on Friday and we had a good positive meeting. We're all very clear in terms of what we are trying to achieve and the strategy is in place to ensure we do things the right way.

"Harry has earmarked players that he wants to add to the squad and we are actively pursuing a number of targets to give us the best possible chance next season."

I would rather he stayed to at least wheel and deal some of the necessary ins and outs

But he will leave the 1st chance he gets. Id rather a long term manager wheel and deal rather than getting stuck with a bunch of overpaid, under performing players like Hughes lumped us with.

So would I if I am honest Flyer but I think a lot of the type of players we want may be attracted to working with HR. I also think that with his contacts he stands a good chance of offloading some of the expensive failures. It isn't ideal I agree.

He wanted Bridge, hes also been linked with Gallas and Bentley, exactly the type of player we dont want. Plus hes got rid of DJ who wants to play for us and scores for fun in the NPC.

He might change my mind but I think he will add to our problems and not solve them.

Who are these over paid under performing players at the end of their footballing lives some on here seem to be gobbing off about? It's like a shark feeding frenzy on here where the bait is speculation!! The only player he's gone on record as saying he wants I Wayne bridge. That doesn't mean all his other targets will be the same! Of the players he brought in in January, how many fit that description?

As for DJ, only recently I saw in an article that even Warnock didn't fancy playing him after working so hard to get him. Hughes and Harry both felt the same, so there has to be more to it regardless of what we think of the manager's.......

Yes I think we go all rose tinted with DJ but there is clearly something wrong as he would have been cheap.

Well he went to Ipswich and scored something like 10 in 14 games so it cant be his talent level. Bosingwa played despite being a complete dick so I cant see a legitimate reason for not keeping DJ.

That's what I'm saying. I'm not slagging the player off, just wondering why he was never given a run in the team....
