I don't know what other people think about this, but I really feel for his parents. If Ann Saccoolas is innocent then she'd have come back to the UK of her own volition ages ago. That the US administration is posturing in this way and seemingly taking the stance that they won't comply with the UK's request for extradition is another example - should any more be needed - that the so-called 'special relationship' is something only drawn upon by the Yanks when it suits. I would hope that we give the same back in spades the next time they go after some poor kid with Asperger's that tries to hack the Pentagon.

If you have been following this Uber, she has never said she is innocent, she admitted driving (accidentally ) on the wrong side of the road. She said she was confused. I am happy to accept it was an accident...but ffs stand up, apologise in court and take the punishment, it is not rocket science.
It is just what adults do...take responsibility for their own action

This is such sad story.
How does she get the diplomatic thing? She is the wife of someone who is entitled to it, or am I wrong, I normally am.
Why don't we give them prince Andrew and they give us this woman, so both can go before the courts.

I read somewhere that her husband is special forces and therefore his whole family are granted protection.
I love Beths post and could not find better words than those.
One can only hope that the cowardly bitch at some point gets her comeuppence. The poor lads family must be distraught at not only losing a wonderful son but never being able to get closure from these terrible events to boot. I know it would eat me up for sure if I were in their position.

They would take into account that she is the mother of small kids and give her a suspended sentence (aided by the CIA threatening the judge no doubt!). Really sad case without the usual crazy, lunatic 'bad' person as the perpetrator.
I fear poor Harry's parents will never get what they think they, and his memory, deserve.

She has to live with herself and with the judgement of her family, friends and strangers. Her children will eventually learn of her actions and will judge her too. She should face up to the responsibility of what she has done of course, but avoiding that now (and a probable lenient sentence) could ultimately be harder to live with, at least I hope it will be for her.

Yes, have followed it. Just poor choice of phrasing. Agree with what you have said, Vern. Thanks for picking me up on this.

I struggle to understand the lack of conscience or empathy with the bereaved that somebody like this woman seemingly has. I’d find it impossible to come to terms with what I’ve done in similar circumstances and would see facing the music as going at least a small way to making some peace with myself.

As others have said, she has to face the understanding of her children at some point. Not a fine example to show them, is it?

I wonder if she’s going about her daily life with not a care in the world?

Celebrities love a cause
Get the Brit's at the golden globes and Oscar's to mention it in any acceptance speeches
Most yanks won't know anything about it

FWIW in her situation I’d have tried to leg it to America too. The scandalous thing is it was allowed to happen. Not heard from Big Dom Raab for a while.
