This is what happens when you accrue players in a random manner without having a clear shape, strategy and set of tactics (A , B and if you are clever C) you are trying to achieve, and recruiting the right personnel to deliver that strategy. The most I can glean is that H likes fast wide players. Which means that Barton, whose best season was on the right of midfield for Newcastle in the Prem (more of a deep lying right sider like Beckham - a ridiculous comparison but the only one to spring to mind) rarely if ever gets to play there). Also, apparently, there is a strict quota for the number of times full backs can get forward during a game.
I think there's little choice but to go back to what was working as there's just no balance with the current team & the defense is exposed for what is which is a lot of aging players & with Charlie out we're going to score even less so things are looking bleak.
To me if Onouha's fit he's got to play CB alongside either Hill or Dunne as the extra pace helps to get us out of trouble. We really need a defensive midfield which probably means Henry as no other choice & as clutching at straws would if fit contemplate bringing SWP back in so in desperate times with what we have available:

Great post mr Chairman and you've hit the nail firmly on the head.
Harry picks 11 players and then works out where to play them. No overall plan, no direction and no clear footballing strategy. We're trudging along rudderless and we've been found out.
It's also worrying that teams seem to want it more than us at the moment. Reading and Derby players both worked harder than ours.

I saw the match coming from the moment the team was announced..
Arry does not seem to have a steady plan...Reading have a plan they have played the same team for the last 7 matches...with success.
We do not seem to know our best team at all...and now with Joey gone for two matches....perhaps we will stumble on a successful team....I know think that is what Arry is hoping

My reasoning is this, despite all his mistakes, bad formations, bulls**t and downright lies; we are now & have always been this season in a play off place or in automatic pro spot. we havent dropped below 4th and despite his best attempts to ruin us, we still have an (very) outside chance of 2nd spot.
it could be anything and its probably just sheer luck we are 3rd but Im not so sure anyone can be this lucky over this length of time. At some stage you have to say well its not luck maybe its skill..or what ever,
Granted if we were mid table or below it would make the decision much easier and i'd be wanting him gone.
finally if it is sheer luck and we make the play offs, then we are going to need all the luck we can get on our side.

The problem with thier reasoning though is that we are 3 in a league where some of us honestly thought we wouls struggle and we odds on for the play offs. to me, that single fact negates any "harry out" arguements that Ive read.
As for the future of the team, lets deal with that when we know what division we;ll be playing in next year because we're going to need an overhaul where ever we are.

I was most disappointed with BAE yesterday. The first goal was a free gift to Reading. Why didn't BAE put the gut under pressure? He literally stood and watched him. For their third goal, he just backed off and eventually turned away. Admittedly very few of those 'shots' actually go in but sure he should have put in a tackle.
Nevertheless to start booing BAE when he came over to take the corner was classless IMO. I have never booed a QPR player and I never will. Even though he may have single-handedly cost us the Burnley game and now this one too!

Sorry Billionth, but this really is burying your head in the sand. Don't get me wrong - I saw some hopeful signs yesterday from some of the players themselves (Hoilett, Traore and Keen who should have stayed on rather than Doyle) and there were several passages of play that demonstrated just how good we could be - but the tactics let us down yet again as Col says. All season long there has simply been no incisiveness in the play (when have we played someone in behind defenders this season? or counter attacked with pace?) but now that is coupled with an overwhelmed and floundering midfield (an unbelievably high count of misplaced passes from Barton and Krancjar regardless of the pressure they were under) and a defence that is rapidly losing confidence due to the chaos in front of them. This is down to the coaching staff pure and simple. There is no way we will make the play-offs playing like this.

so the last 3 years have been fantastic then?
I told you that we were performing badly back then and the clean sheet run put us in a false position, I was told "shut up, were 1st/2nd" but now virtually everyone is seeing it though some never will.
I still think we are bit better than you think bully boy. However we do have serious lack of tactics, serious lack of pace ( both ways defend/attack) , serious lack of physique and serious lack of motivation (many players). I dont think Green made a meaningful save so Reading didnt do that well. Green is reminding me of Kenny in that he is so slow anything over 1m away from him flies into the net.
I think only a new manager could do it but TF cannot afford to sack HR so will wait for him to leave in the summer and hopefully change to whole direction of the club.
I think even TF has realised its a bad idea for stop gaps and paying poor players and managers world class wages. I think the fact has hes got leeches refusing to leave means he will buy younger players, well i hope for his sake thats true.

Indeed it is Beth, but the fact we have 'New Manager' thread doing the rounds shows that there is real concern. Our form of late has been poor and the frustration levels are very high.
I've yet to see us play a commanding performance this season. The Ipswich game is the closest I can get to.
As for the so called 'easier games' well as the table sorts itself out, teams at the bottom start pulling their socks up. What I would have thought was 3pts in the bag away at Weds is now a very tough challenge indeed. Donny away on paper was 3pts in the pot and look what happened there.

Couldnt agree more RangerCol. I think all R's fans look to see what midfield (mistake) HR has made with every line up!! He chooses similar players with no width in some games and then chooses a line up like yesterday with only one midfield player who can tackle with two upfront!! I like Kranjcer and when he is on the ball does look class but he did not fit into the team yesterday and needs to play behind front one or two with two DCMs behind. Its easy to moan when things arent going well but I bet we could all have a sweepstake on the result when our midfield is revealed each game?!!! "i.e away at Derby and HR says we gave them too much respect" Well Harry that midfield you picked was never going to attack and dominate you plonker! (I bet hes worried his gaff is going under water?!!!)
I don't agree that Harry is clueless, as the team has certainly sufferered due to long term injuries to very key players which must be taken into consideration.
I personally, was quite pleased when I initially saw Sunday's starting 11 as I thought it would have the pace that was sadly lacking at the Derby match. But sadly, it was not enough.
However, I will complain that Harry has been found lacking "tactically" against our competitors in the top 6 of the Championship which is very disappointing. I see this as a case of "modern" vs "old school" type of manager. There were many comments on MB's for us to play 4-4-2, but I feel that 4-2-3-1 is our correct and preferred formation, and we should immnediately revert back to it.
We now have a run of "easier" games, whilst our key opponents have key matches amongst themselves. So ,all to play for, but we must stop the rot and get on a decent run. We can still hope that we will!
