hes currently there second highest scorer behind thompson hes actually scored 6 goals so young harriman looks to be another one that got away
If he can do the same job as Perch or Onouha now isn't the point. It's how the club rate his potential. If they think he won't develop much more than at where he is ability wise right now then the only right thing to do is let him go. I think his top potential lies between League 1 and Championship level. Don't think the club has got this one wrong.
It is sort of the point. We could have played him instead of buying Perch and saved £10k a week (at a guess). It's just a very typical QPR move. What potential does Perch have to improve?
I agree of course, but that point would be more valid if Harriman was sold before buying Perch. About Perch, was he bought as a right back? If so why when it isn't his best or prefered position?
What is it with you and Perch? Perch was doing a good job the last games before his injury. He was part of a defense that went from mainly 2 leaked goals a game to mainly 0 goals a game, and have started conceding again since his injury. All credit to him.
He's ****ing ****e. That's my problem with Perch. Neither he nor Konchesky offer anything at all to the attack and we've shipped about a gazillion goals down his wing. Yeah the defence was marginally better before he got injured- against some appalling teams as clueless going forwards as we were- but it was and is still one of the leakiest defences in the league despite Hall playing out of his skin every week. I hate the fact that useless, overpaid, over the hill players like Green, Perch, Konchesky and Henry, and more to the point these thick as **** people in charge of transfers and picking the players, depriving me of seeing my football club develop players who are already at least as good and could be a hell of a lot better and easier to watch. I don't blame Hasselbaink for now- I think most people in his position would play safe with experience early on- but if we're sat here after six more games with those four and Fer still in the team then really what is the point? Sorry for the rant. My point really is that James Perch is **** and Harriman might well be quite good.
Fair enough, but why bring in this Motta bloke and let Harriman (and Furlong on loan) go? Perch has mostly been a centre-half or defensive midfielder. My guess is we tried to get an experienced right-back in, as youth coach extraordinaire Ramsey and Fernandes with his Midas touch, didn't think either Furlong or Harriman were up to it, failed and had to play him there.
From what I have read of Perch he has played back mostly, also where I remember him playing. He hasn't been ***** lately and was Player of the Season 2 seasons in a row before he joined us.
In a team that got relegated 2 seasons running,i'm sorry Oslo but Perch is a ****ing liability,a truly awful defender. The fact we suddenly started to defend better, and stopped leaking goals, wasn't down to him it was down to the fact that Warnock somehow managed to get these mutants to concentrate for a full game and defend properly as a unit!
We have to disagree then. I'm not saying we stopped leaking goals because of him alone, but he was a part of a defense that got their act together. CR, Colin and Hill may all have guided it, but they had to do it! Perch cut out a lot of the mistakes he was making earlier, and he also was making some contribution further forward. His improved performances at RB allowed Ned to play CB with Hall and these 2 made a decent pairing.
